'Mythbusters' is doing a 'Breaking Bad'-themed episode

"Breaking Bad" creator Vince Gilligan said in an interview earlier this year that he'd like to do a crossover with Discovery's "Mythbusters": "I'd dig seeing those guys prove or disprove some of the crazy stuff we've done."Well, Mr. Gilligan, consider your wish granted. "Mythbusters" is filming a "Breaking Bad"-themed episode this week to air in the spring. Gilligan and "Breaking Bad" star Aaron Paul will both be featured in the show."We've been wanting to do a 'Breaking Bad' episode for awhile," "Mythbusters" host Adam Savage tells EW. "Obviously there's a lot of fertile material to play with, so things that happen on the show have been ending up on our list of stories to tackle for a couple years now. And when Vince said ... he'd love to see a 'Mythbusters'/'Breaking Bad' crossover, we reached out to him directly and the response was overwhelmingly positive."Savage and co-host Jamie Hyneman will test the accuracy of a... //

'Mythbusters' Apologize for Cannonball Accident

Yesterday came news that the 'Mythbusters' team had accidentally fired a 30-lbs cannonball through a house. Although on the face of it, it seemed like a pretty funny story, more details have since emerged that show how lucky local residents were to escape injury. According to 'The San Francisco Chronicle,' the cannonball travelled straight through the Shetty family's house, exiting through the exterior wall of the master bedroom as mom Seema was napping in the room with her two year-old son. After traveling a total of 3,300 feet, the cannonball eventually came to rest in Satwinder Gill's minivan. She told ABC-7 News that "my husband and son were in the car five minutes before it happened." 'Mythbusters' hosts Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage -- who were not present when the accident happened -- travelled to Dublin, California to meet with the families affected by the accident and to apologize. Savage told 'The San Francisco Chronicle,' "It's a wake-up call. Honestly, the feeling of embarrassment is not something we're indulging in right now. We feel for the families and the people affected by this." //

'Mythbusters' accident sends a cannonball through a house

Well, it had to happen sometime. We love "Mythbusters" in all its explosive glory, but after so many experiments over the past 8 years, it's hardly surprising that there was an accident. During an experiment with a cannon, a misfire happened, sending a cannonball right through a house and onto another roof. The accident happened at 4pm on Tuesday, December 6th when the group was testing out a myth involving cannons (leading us to assume that Adam Savage will be doing his pirate accent again) at a bomb range in Alameda County. Frequent watchers of the show will recognize this area as it's frequently used in "Mythbusters" experiments.Instead of hitting garbage cans as it was intended, a cannonball went through the wall of a home in Dublin, CA, bounced off a roof and finally landed on a minivan. No one was hurt, but we have a feeling that any future cannons will be pointed in the... //

'MythBusters' Adam Savage, Jamie Hyneman host Steve Jobs special for Discovery

Steve Jobs passed away last week, to the sadness of technophiles everywhere. The Discovery Channel is going honor his memory with a special program titled "iGenius: How Steve Jobs Changed the World." The one-hour documentary will celebrate the various innovations Jobs brought to the world. The special will be hosted by Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman of Discovery's "MythBusters" and will feature interviews with people whose lives and livelihoods were forever changed by Jobs."Someone once said that to follow the path that others have laid before you is a very reasonable course of action, therefore all progress is made by unreasonable men," says Savage. "Steve Jobs was an unreasonable man. He didn't simply give the public what they wanted, he defined entirely new ways of thinking about our lives in the digital space: productivity, creativity, music, communication, media and art. He has touched, directly and indirectly, all of our lives.""iGenius: How Steve Jobs Changed the World"... //

Jamie and Adam Try to Dodge Bullets on 'Mythbusters' (VIDEO)

If you're worried that a sniper might be targeting you, you may have tuned into this week's 'Mythbusters' (Wed., 9PM ET on Discovery) with a glimmer of hope in your heart. The gang decided to see if they could break the Hollywood myth of dodging bullets. They set up a rig that would shoot a paintball at Jamie Hyneman from a close distance mere milliseconds after Adam Savage fires from a typical sniping distance. It's a good thing, too, as Jamie wasn't able to move fast enough until they reached a distance of 500 yards. Then, he was just able to dodge it. At that distance and under those perfect circumstances, Adam declared that "There's just no way you could see [a sniper] fire from far enough away to give you a remote chance of dodging that thing." Myth busted, which means you're on your own with your sniper. //
