'MythBusters' Could Debunk Apollo Conspiracy Theory with Their Own Moon Landing (VIDEO)

When 'MythBusters' duo Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman visited 'The Colbert Report' (weekdays, 11:30PM ET on Comedy Central), Stephen Colbert asked if there was any myth they would like to debunk but can't do so on their long-running Discovery Channel show. "Well, we did a whole episode on busting the conspiracy theory that the moon landing was faked, and there are some people who are still unconvinced," Savage answered. "So we would love to -- if time, money were no object -- build a spaceship, go to the moon and come back with a piece of Apollo hardware -- all in one take." //

Are You Ready for 'MythBusters' in 3D?

Have you ever watched 'MythBusters' and thought to yourself, "Gee, I like watching things blow up and get destroyed, but these experiments feel dulled by the constraints of two dimensions"? Well, wait a little longer and your three-dimensional dreams might come true. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 3D channel formed from Discovery Communications, IMAX and Sony Corp. is "extremely interested" in filming several episodes of 'MythBusters' in native 3D -- meaning the shows will be planned specifically for the medium. Out of all Discovery's shows, 'MythBusters' seems especially ripe for 3D. Unlike a reality show -- 'Deadliest Catch,' for example -- 'MythBusters' is planned and shot on soundstages (and at each mythbusting location), so mapping out a 3D episode would be much easier. Instead, the president and the Mythbusters will revisit the story that Archimedes set fire to an invading Roman fleet by using mirrors and the reflection of the sun. Source Here

SDCC 2010: MYTHBUSTERS Cast Interview

I think it's safe to say that Press Room 1B of the San Diego Convention Center housed five of the smartest, most intriguing, humble, and engaging individuals in the entertainment business. I'm not referring to the cast of some ambitious ensemble superhero movie, but Mythbusters Jamie Hyneman, Adam Savage, Tory Belleci, Kari Byron, and Grant Imahara. I rubbed elbows with a few celebrities throughout SDCC 2010, though I was genuinely starstruck in the presence of the MythBusters. Their interview was by far my favorite of the event. Tonight's TV Hot List: Wednesday, June 10, 2009

* Letters to the President (8 pm/ET HBO2) When a nation plays it as close to the vest as Iran, it's hard to know what goes on behind its borders, but a trio of documentaries seek to give at least a glimpse of what makes the country tick. The first is Letters to the President, a look at Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's correspondence with the populace. It's followed by The Queen and I on June 17 (8 pm/ET), a chronicle of a former revolutionary's relationship with the Shah's widow, and Be Like Others: Transsexuals in Iran on June 24 (8 pm/ET). * Top Chef Masters (10 pm/ET Bravo ) Here's food for thought: How will 24 celebrity chefs react when their own famed food is judged? We'll find out in this tasty new reality spin-off in which renowned foodies compete in culinary challenges to score a $100,000 prize for charity. Here's the seasonal menu: The first six episodes feature four cooks in battle; the six winners of those shows then advance to the final four weeks of competition. It's a dessert storm in tonight's premiere when Hubert Keller, Christopher Lee, Michael Schlow and Tim Love create the most delicious of sweet treats. * American Masters (9 pm/ET PBS) Back in 1979, on his classic Rust Never Sleeps album, Neil Young sang "it's better to burn out than to fade away." The iconoclastic rocker has stayed true to those words ever since, touring and releasing albums on a regular basis, including this year's Fork in the Road and the mammoth Archives Vol. 1 (eight CDs or 10 DVDs/Blu-Ray discs), a retrospective that explores his early years. This profile is a perfect fit with the latter, and features interviews with Young and his on-again, off-again bandmates David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash, as well as friends James Taylor and Nils Lofgren (who recently released an album of all Young covers). * Real World/Road Rules Challenge (10 pm/ET MTV ) After hitting a rough patch, Brad and Tori have proved their relationship can survive a Challenge, but can the engaged pair survive their first trip to the Duel? When last week's cliffhanger left off, Tori and Aneesa were neck-and-neck in the "Elevator" game, with Brad waiting to face MJ in the grueling "Pole Dance." Expect the battles to be very intense in tonight's Season 17 finale. The winners will advance to the final challenge - and stay in the running for the $300,000 grand prize - and the losers will pack their bags and kiss the cash good-bye. * Mythbusters (9 pm/ET Discovery Channel) In the 2008 Angelina Jolie shoot-'em-up movie Wanted, assassins could "curve a bullet," which is a succinct way of saying a shooter could cause the trajectory of a bullet to arc around an obstacle by moving the gun's barrel while firing. Can a gunslinger really do that without the aid of a special-effects department? Adam, Jamie and Co. aim to find out. Source Here

The MythBusters Return with a Bang, Smash and Pratfall!

This Wednesday at 9 pm/ET, Discover Channel's MythBusters - led by Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage - returns with a "Demolition Derby Special," in which our stalwart experimenters try to flip a bus (a la Speed), compact a compact car, and mimic a remarkable Lexus commercial. In this video Q&A with, Hyneman and Savage discuss the difficulty they often face in recreating "once in a million occurrences," with Savage admitting, "Sometimes it really kicks our butt." Also coming up in the show's seventh season: another Alaska special, in which they try to sail a boat made out of sawdust and ice, a nod to Seinfeld (does double-dipping really spread germs?), and an in-depth expose of, yes, the age-old banana-peel slip. Says Hyneman of their look into the slapstick chestnut, "It's hilarious." Source & Video Here
