'NCIS' Season 11: Ziva's departure will be 'heart-wrenching,' says EP

"NCIS" fans were shocked when it was revealed that fan favorite Cote de Pablo would be leaving the hit CBS drama after playing Ziva David for eight years. De Pablo will return for part of Season 11 to conclude Ziva's story properly, and, according to executive producer Gary Glasberg, viewers might need tissues on hand.In an open letter to fans shared via Twitter on Tuesday (Sept. 10), Glasberg addresses what he called "the elephant in the room: the departure of Ziva David.""Like I've said multiple times, we respect Cote's decision immensely and wish her all the best," he writes. We all know the major NCIS casting news these days: Cote de Pablo will exit the series following this September's NCIS Season 11 premiere. But William Keck of TV Guide Magazine has broken another tidbit concerning a different character and a memorable, sad event from the show's past: this year's Thanksgiving episode will focus on Leon Vance, who will be spending his first holiday season without his late spouse, Jackie.
