Nikita: "Pandora" Review

Spoilers ahead! You've been warned.   I think it's safe to say that this episode was a fitting end to what has been one of the wildest seasons on TV in a long time.   Nikita had its foot on the gas pedal since day one, and " Pandora " was no different, answering every important question, dealing with every major character satisfactorily (and even adding a few new ones) and leaving things wide open for the future.   At the same time, as much as I hate to say it, "Pandora" wasn't my favorite episode of the season, mainly because, unlike in previous episodes, I wasn't blown away by all the twists and turns. Oh, sure there were many enjoyable surprises, but this was the finale - I was expecting them. All season long,   Nikita   has blindsided us with huge revelations from out of nowhere, and that's partly the reason this series has been so much fun to watch. But because everything had been building towards this episode, they faced the almost impossible task of trying to out-do themselves when it came to game-changing revelations. Unfortunately, my guard was up and I was prepared for anything. Although, I have to say, that's a pretty good problem to have. NIKITA “Pandora” Review

NIKITA  "Pandora" Season 1 Episode 22 -  Percy continues to weave  his Operation Sparrow story, but doesn’t get the chance to finish it. It turns out his own personal mission was to become the head of the CIA. Unfortunately his days at Division seem to have come to an end. The season finale of  NIKITA is set in an environment of chaos. What was up is now down; what was in is now out. Factions have split, and new players have taken over. Panic and desperation give way to the uneasy calm before the storm – quite literally, if you noted the closing shot of this final episode "Pandora". If we get a second season (which I hope we do), it will come back with a completely different approach and vibe, and with completely different teams. What happened on  Nikita  tonight? Life, death and rebirth. Nikita and Alex both die and come back to life, each in a different incarnation from what they were before. Michael walks into Division as a top agent, but leaves as a rogue agent. Birkhoff proves himself to be a worthy sidekick, not just a spineless brownnoser. Amanda manipulates her way to become head of Division. Power-hungry Percy has utterly failed  on all fronts, leaving him where? 'Nikita' 1.22 'Pandora' Recap and Review

Picking up where  "Betrayals"  left off, Alex has apparently killed Nikita. We know that's not the case, but Joey Greco tells Percy that cardiac arrest is what did our heroine in, which doesn't make him as happy as one might expect. Percy orders Alex back to Division, telling Amanda "that was unexpected," before leaving to visit Oversight. Meanwhile, Michael is still hanging out in the basement. Birkhoff walks in, looking much, much better than when we saw him last. "Was it worth it?" he asks, ranting about Michael lying to him. In return, Michael retorts that Birkhoff set him up. Birkhoff insists that he didn't know it was a setup. Michael isn't buying: "You're not stupid, Birkhoff. You're just a coward." After some more arguing, Birkhoff reveals to Michael that Nikita is dead. "You went and joined her. Encouraged her. That was your choice," he adds before he leaves Michael to think on that. Percy goes to his Oversight meeting, which consists of some very powerful people, including Harris Yulin (24)  as an Admiral, and  La Femme Nikita  alum Alberta Watson as a Senator. Percy tells them that if they didn't slash his budget, he wouldn't be doing the side jobs they're so upset about. He explains his master plan: to frame Nikita for a nerve gas attack on the heads of the CIA, contained in the rigged black box that Ryan is currently bringing into Langley. Nikita Review: "Pandora"

Although last week felt like a season finale, this week's Nikita provided closure, as well as plenty of open-ended storylines to begin the sophomore season with. Let’s all cross our fingers like Birkhoff and hope for a second season! Let’s break down "Pandora" character by character ... Nikita managed to save the day and take off with Michael after Rome flushed her system of the toxin Alex injected to make her appear dead. Her main mission in "Pandora" was to keep the CIA from cracking "operation sparrow," which would then leave everyone in the room dead. However, she saved Fletcher, whom she promised to bail out of prison for the injuring the guard and compromising his superior. Read More... //www.tvfanatic.com/2011/05/nikita-review-pandora/

'Nikita' Season 1, Episode 22 (Season Finale) Recap

After tonight's episode, it's all too tempting to simply type "WOW," and leave it at that, but such brevity would do a great disservice to the phenomenal writing, acting and pacing of the 'Nikita' season finale, and this tenacious little show deserves as much praise as it can get. We've already established that 'Nikita' is one of the best new shows that most people aren't watching, and I can only hope that the CW sees what a diamond in the rough it has on its hands when next week's upfront presentations roll around: If 'Nikita' isn't back on the schedule next fall, I might have to go rogue, Nikita style, and infiltrate CW headquarters to give the higher-ups a piece of my mind. It's rare that a show can establish such labyrinthine mythology -- multi-layered and unpredictable -- whilst still managing to keep the plotting clear and logical (I'm looking at you, 'Alias'). Between the backstabbing, double-crossing and shifting allegiances, 'Pandora' pulled out some pretty heavy political maneuvering, and yet Percy's motives and plans were crystal clear, for the first time all season.
