While imprisoned inside an inescapable cave, Kazuma reveals to Hiyori that he is the sole survivor of his clan of Bishamon's former Regalia. He requested Yato in the past to kill off his entire clan after Bishamon incurred blight as a child, in which her worsening condition caused chaos among his clan, hence why Kazuma is indebted to Yato. Kugaha, who has been giving Aiha some medicine to cover up her tainted body, plans to become Kazuma's successor as Bishamon's exemplar.
