Emma is concerned to learn that her father has travelled to town with his cleaner, Mrs Chin. What can this mean? Brian casually suggests Rock might have a thing for Mrs Chin and Emma is horrified. Her mother has only been dead for a few months. To make matters worse, Courtney, now heavily pregnant, arrives in, having had a fight with her mother. Emma, already annoyed at Brian, wants him to deal with it this time. Brian really doesn’t want to be involved but consults with Catherine and is horrified to learn that Courtney is overdue. After a false alarm, Brian rushes Courtney to hospital where she goes into labour. Brian meets Jo and Adam at the hospital where Jo’s labour is proceeding very slowly. Despite his intentions, Brian is deeply involved and affected by the birth of his child. Courtney and Talia make up and she decides to take the baby back to her old flat. Emma meets Mrs Chin but is concerned that she talks about money a lot. She tells her dad she finds it disrespectful to her mother’s memory and Rock agrees to call it off. Michelle thinks Emma is right but in the process makes Emma realise how lonely her dad is. She tells Rock that she just wants him to be happy and that she no longer disapproves of Mrs Chin. Catherine is pleased to be able to introduce Michelle to her handsome friend Richard, but the best laid matchmaking plans go awry when Michelle claims they want different things. She wants casual sex and he wants more. Michelle tries to give him the brush off, but Richard is persistent and Michelle finally allows herself to go with the flow. They are trapped skinny dipping in the rooftop pool and spend the night together.
