Orenchi no Furo Jijo Episode #11 Anime Review

With the parade of visitors we’ve had, I admit that I like it more when it focuses on just Wakasa and Tatsumi. With Tatsumi having gotten a raise at work, Wakasa takes advantage of that in his own particular way to get what he wants – which is a whole lot of milk for a milk bath. You have to feel a bit for Tatsumi in how his money gets spent, but he does keep letting Wakasa live there. It also doesn’t take long for others to start showing up from throughout the series, making for a good little party in a tub as we get different kinds of baths. With several visitors and a lot of time spent in these different baths, it doesn’t take long for it to be too much for Tatsumi, which lets everyone fawn over him a little too. Tatsumi’s pretty worn throughout the episode, so the turn of events certainly isn’t a surprise.   Read More... //www.fandompost.com/2014/12/18/orenchi-no-furo-jijo-episode-11-anime-review/

Orenchi no Furo Jijo Episode #10 Anime Review

After a little fun with Kasumi visiting the last time around, which got Wakasa out of the tub and into a kiddie pool for a bit, this episode gives us a small taste of the outside world with Tatsumi coming home only to find a seashell outside of his home. As it turns out, the shell actually has a friend of Wakasa’s in there named Maki, who is utterly afraid of the light with the way it blinds him. Maki is pretty dark in personality as well and also confused about the situation as he though Tatsumi was Wakasa’s girlfriend. Maki is definitely fun to watch with his personality and size, and the way he reacts to Tatsumi as time goes on, bringing a new friendship to life.   Read More... //www.fandompost.com/2014/12/10/orenchi-no-furo-jijo-episode-10-anime-review/

Orenchi no Furo Jijo Episode #09 Anime Review

In a sense, it is amusing how many stories and incidents you can set up within a bathroom in order to have our two leads, and occasional guests, spend time in there. For Wakasa, things are in a mild place right now as the tub is being drained so he has a little kiddie pool to hang out in. It’s amusing just in what it presents as Tatsumi’s sister arrives and hugs him only to discover he’s quite slimy. Something you really don’t think about with those that exist largely in water. While she decides that this is an opportunity to bathe together with her brother, Tatsumi’s against it while Wakasa suggest that they do. There’s a lot of pervy moments in here as we get Kasumi in her school swimsuit getting weirdly touchy-feely with Wakasa and then bathing with Tatsumi. It’s no surprise how the episode plays out but it just forces that whole weird relationship sibling thing too many shows end up doing these days.   Read More... //www.fandompost.com/2014/12/05/orenchi-no-furo-jijo-episode-09-anime-review/

Orenchi no Furo Jijo Episode #08 Anime Review

One of the things I like in this series is that Tatsumi isn’t a high school student for this but rather an adult living on his own and having to deal with what’s come into his life. The two men living together in the way they are is comical, especially since we have Tatsumi trying to educate Wakasa a bit. But all Wakasa wants is company in the tub at this point. That has its awkward moments, but you also know that Wakasa is pretty innocent about it all. This episode also focuses on Tatsumi trying to get Wakasa to be more than just a meat eater (ho ho ho) with time spent trying to convince him to eat vegetables as well. There’s some basic conflict here where it’s almost parent and child, especially since Wakasa is so very child-like in a good many ways, even more so in contrast to Tatsumi. At least until he gets pervy.   Read More... //www.fandompost.com/2014/11/26/orenchi-no-furo-jijo-episode-08-anime-review/

Orenchi no Furo Jijo Episode #07 Anime Review

Getting back to the two leads was definitely a plus the last time around, especially since it softened Tatsumi a bit with the bubble bath. This time around, things take a fun twist as we get the arrival of Tatsumi’s younger sister Kasumi. There’s plenty of amusement just in the way she and her brother interact, but she gets protective of him when she first sees Wakasa and talks about crushing him like an insect. While she thinks he’s a she at first and someone that is stealing away Tatsumi, she’s all over the map when she discovers he’s a merman. It’s a confusing situation on a lot of levels for Kasumi, but she properly overreacts to everything in a fun way all while dealing with an attractive half naked man in a tub. In the end, the two get to share a special secret like this, which is utterly adorable.   Read More... //www.fandompost.com/2014/11/20/orenchi-no-furo-jijo-episode-07-anime-review/

Orenchi no Furo Jijo Episode #06 Anime Review

While we’ve seen a few different “people” enjoying the tub since the series started, things have mostly kept simple with it. But now Wakasa is dreaming of what every maiden does of a bubble bath. And naturally, Tatsumi will try to help him and that involves a little bit of effort with a great result. One that even has Wakasa being very playful about it in an utterly adorable way. While we see him enjoying it, Tatsumi doesn’t endear himself well as he refuses to get in such a “girly” bath, which of course is a not so fun reinforcement of gender being applied to something that simply is. He does get kind of goaded into it and the two have a fantastic playful time within it as they soak and then throw bubble globs at each other. It can’t last, but it’s great to see the two of them engaging with each other in this way. When the bubbles disappear though, you know it’s just prelude to far bigger problems.   Read More... //www.fandompost.com/2014/11/13/orenchi-no-furo-jijo-episode-06-anime-review/

Orenchi no Furo Jijo Episode #05 Anime Review

The series plays to the holiday theme well here as the cold open just gives us some very adorable/sexy costume material for the fans to really savor. With Mikuni still hanging around, the three guys play up things in a fun way, especially since Wakasa does himself up as a witch which confuses Tatsumi. The trio also gets frustrated by the lack of candy that Tatsumi has, which makes for an utterly hilarious reaction from the trio. While Tatsumi wasn’t ready for Halloween, he does a good job of trying to bring things up to speed a bit, but there are always complications when you have people like this here. The actual trick or treating time is hilarious since it all takes place in the bathroom and Tatsumi is just worn down by the whole experience in a really fun way. All three guys get some nice display time for their style and costumes and just seeing how Tatsumi has to deal with it is seriously grin inducing.   Read More... //www.fandompost.com/2014/11/05/orenchi-no-furo-jijo-episode-05-anime-review/

Orenchi no Furo Jijo Episode #04 Anime Review

While it was no surprise that the cast would grow, part of me wanted to see if they could sustain just the two leads. Takasu isn’t a bad addition though, especially being an octo-man and having a Gojyo kind of look about him. He’s also just as fun to mess with as Wakasa, which is good to see, as we get Tatsumi talking about a ghost sighting nearby. Naturally, it’s drawn to his bathtub as we learn that it’s actually a jellyfish-human-ish character. She’s a little tiny since she hasn’t been in water for awhile, but she takes up a nice bit of space in the tub when Tatsumi puts her in there. A little female character material is definitely welcome here to change things up a bit and watching how the other two compete for resources with her sharing the tub is definitely comical.   Read More... //www.fandompost.com/2014/10/30/orenchi-no-furo-jijo-episode-04-anime-review/

Orenchi no Furo Jijo Episode #03 Anime Review

The series has had some fun in seeing how Wakasa and Tatsumi handle living together, though obviously the real onus is on Tatsumi. The arrival of Wakasa’s friend Takasu adds a new wrinkle to things that Tatsumi didn’t expect to have happen. How many mermen can you fit in a tub anyway? Wakasa’s happy to show off his new digs to Takasu and the pair are amujsing as they fill in a few blanks over their century long friendship. Takasu’s a little different though as he’s half octopus, but we’ll stick to merman for the sake of octoman being an unfriendly word. Takasu cuases his own problems while there with the amount of space his takes up, but we see some good dexterous skills as well with all those limbs. The pair are fun to watch as they just loaf about in the bathroom, which has a drain on Tatsumi as it goes on and his own particular style is one that’s amusing to watch as he’s so downtrodden that it bleeds out heavily.   Read More... //www.fandompost.com/2014/10/21/orenchi-no-furo-jijo-episode-03-anime-review/

Orenchi no Furo Jijo Episode #02 Anime Review

With the meager back story set up, Orenchi no Fuo Jijo can just have fun at this point with Tatsumi dealing with a merman named Wakasa living in his tub. Wakasa’s amusing in that he’s definitely enjoying the tub and the functions it offers, which comes at a bit of a cost for Tatsumi of course. Maintaining a residence for a merman isn’t cheap, especially for someone like Wakasa that’s almost childish about what he wants. Of course, some of it comes from what he’s lived through in the real world outside in the water, so it’s understandable to want to be decadent. Tatsumi does his best to find ways to try and get Wakasa to live a little more frugally in a way, though that just makes for more chaos and silliness since Wakasa very much likes what he likes, though he does at least try.   Read More... //www.fandompost.com/2014/10/14/orenchi-no-furo-jijo-episode-02-anime-review/
