13 Reasons We Loved Outcast Season 1

Outcast proved itself to be one of the most riveting and creepiest shows of the summer as demonic or alien possessions (we're not sure what they are at this point) overtook the people of the small town of Rome, West Virginia. Reverend Anderson tried his best to rid the town of the demons, but his exorcisms failed on a grand scale. The only thing that seemed to work was what Kyle did, whether it was beating the victim or just laying his hands on him, or sometimes both. ...  Read More...   //www.tvfanatic.com/slideshows/draft-13-reasons-we-loved-outcast-season-1/

Outcast’s First Season Ends in a Creepy Way with “This Little Light”

All season, Outcast on Cinemax has been trying its hardest to be the next big thing in horror. With its source material coming from The Walking Dead‘s Robert Kirkman, the potential was there from the very beginning. One thing that always separated the two series, though, was the very slow-burn nature of Outcast (contrasting the action-oriented The Walking Dead), but, luckily for us, this series ended up being something very special. I’ve mentioned before that Outcast was by and large one of my favorite shows of the summer, and this week’s first season finale firmly solidified that. Without venturing too far into spoiler territory, let’s talk about the season finale of Outcast, "This Little Light." READ MORE...

‘Outcast': Cinemax’s Undervalued Exorcism Series Ends Season 1 on a Eerie High Note

Cinemax’s Outcast opens in an almost identical way as Robert Kirkman and Paul Azaceta‘s graphic novels of the same name. A small family home in the fictional town of Rome, West Virginia is turned into a house of horrors by the demonic possession of a young boy, who is revealed to his mother by chewing off the flesh on his own finger for sustenance. It’s an unsettling image in both instances, but there’s at least one notable difference in the series. As the first season opens, the first image we see is that of a cockroach scurrying across the wall of the boy’s room, right before he smashes the insect into a sticky puddle of guts. READ MORE...
