Parks and Rec’s Chris Pratt Wants Dave Matthews to Guest-Star

Parks and Recreation cast members spent a day at Google earlier this month, and now the full video of their "Google Talk" is online. It's pretty long and largely covers stuff most fans already know (no, the dialogue is not improvised), but buried within the panel were a few character-perfect tidbits: One, Adam Scott says his character Ben Wyatt's celebrity crush is Janel Moloney from The West Wing , which is wonderful. And two, Chris Pratt wants Dave Matthews to guest-star on the show "so Andy can meet him and cry," he says. Pratt also suggests Darius Rucker and Eddie Vedder as possible guest stars, so start preparing yourself for a whine-singing pukka-shell-laden nineties-inspired Mouse Rat show. //www.vulture.com/2012/09/parks-and-rec-wants-dave-matthews-to-guest-star.html

Parks and Recreation Scoop: Leslie's About to Get a Rude Awakening

What would Hillary Rodham Clinton do in Leslie Knope's situation? When Parks and Recreation returns, the newly elected city councillor of the great city of Pawnee, Ind., may have to turn to her political idol for inspiration in order to deal with navigating the idiosyncrasies of small-town government, the increased responsibilities — seriously, rivers can't clean themselves, people! — and the unexpected stresses that come with her new position. But will Leslie Knope cope or crack? //www.tvguide.com/News/Parks-Recreation-Poehler-Season5-Spoilers-NBC-1053248.aspx?rss=breakingnews

'Parks and Recreation' Season 5 trailer promises Ron Swanson with his face painted and other delights

"Parks and Recreation" has already offered up an extended look at Leslie's trip to Washington. A new trailer for Season 5 gives a look at what's happening in other early episodes too -- including the event referenced in the headline.Ron's (Nick Offerman) face-painting, as far as we can tell, does not involve either of his ex-wives. The out-of-character moment (at the 19-second mark in the video), which also involves a green boa, instead comes at the hands of two little girls playing dress-up in their front yard. Another adult is there too. We are intriuged. You'll also see Leslie (Amy Poehler) giving Ben (Adam Scott) a virtual tour of her new Pawnee City Council office and its not entirely private bathroom; Andy (Chris Pratt) having a bit of a Ricky Bobby moment while he trains for the police academy; Leslie with an extremely unfortunate perm (a very brief shot at the 29-second mark); and Ann (Rashida... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/09/parks-and-recreation-season-5-trailer-promises-ron-swanson-with-his-face-painted-and-other-delights.html

'Parks and Recreation' Season 5 clips: Leslie is living the dream in D.C.

Think of the person you know who would be most excited to visit Washington, D.C. Double that enthusiasm, then triple it, and you begin to approach how giddy Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) is in the season premiere of "Parks and Recreation."Leslie travels to the capital to visit Ben (Adam Scott), who's working on a congressional campaign (the show shot on location in D.C.). Andy (Chris Pratt) tags along to see April (Aubrey Plaza), who's working as Ben's intern. Leslie shares her excitement in the clip up above -- "Romantic reunions, government meetings, self-guided museum tours!"The next two clips show Leslie and Andy seeing the Washington sights -- and Andy looking for "National Treasure"-style clues (to what, exactly, we're not sure) -- and the two couples' reunion at the Smithsonian. Back in Pawnee, meanwhile, Ron (Nick Offerman) has taken on oversight of the annual parks department employee barbecue. The rest of the staff is (justifiably) skeptical... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/09/parks-and-recreation-season-5-clips-leslie-is-living-the-dream-in-dc.html

Breaking Bad “Fixer” Jonathan Banks to Guest on ‘Parks and Recreation’

Over the last month, we have reported on guest stars that  will either be returning  or  showing up for the first time  on the NBC sitcom  Parks and Recreatio n. Now comes the big news: Ben Wyatt’s (Adam Scott) dad will be played by none other than ‘Breaking Bad’ "fixer" Mike Ehrmentraut, er, I mean actor  Jonathan Banks. The news , which was first reported by HitFix, has it that Banks will most likely appear in the comedy’s sixth episode of the new fall season; but few other details are known about Ben’s as-yet unnamed dad. But Mike Schur, the co-creator of the series , shared with the folks at Hit Fix that, "We were working [on] the character description of Ben’s dad, and I said aloud, ‘He should act like Mike Ehrmentraut’. So somebody said, ‘Well, why can’t we just get Jonathan Banks?’" As readers can imagine, Schur and his team are big fans of the AMC drama as well as Banks. Parks and Recreation Scooplet: Guess Who Is Getting a Twitter Account?

"There’s a little bit of art imitating life for my character this season," Parks and Recreation’s Retta reveals to Vulture. In case you weren’t aware, the comedian, who plays the parks department employee Donna, has become famous on Twitter for telling like it is when it comes to what she’s watching on TV. Jezebel has already dubbed her The Best TV Recapper on the Internet , and series boss Mike Schur told us that the writers cooked up a storyline inspired by Retta’s very popular real-life ramblings (available at @unfoRETTAble ), which are eagle-eyed and merciless when it comes to prime time’s dodos . And so, Donna’s getting a Twitter account. Several episodes into Parks ’new season (premiering September 20), she will sound off about a new (fake) movie 140 characters at a time. Retta says her alter ego has questionable taste. "I’ve watched the movie [she will be tweeting about]. It’s really bad, but Donna loves it," she says, adding that she's pretty excited to come up with the colorful tweets. "The writers are gonna let me do some of my own lines. People who know me will think it’s hilarious." Sadly, there are no plans yet for Donna’s Twitter account to exist in the real world. 'Parks and Recreation' looks back at the highs and lows of Knope 2012

You know those biographical films presidential campaigns make to show at the party conventions? Well, "Parks and Recreation" has made one for Leslie Knope. The Season 5 premiere is just a week away, and we'll follow Leslie (Amy Poehler) as she begins her term on the Pawnee City Council. As a lead-up to the Sept. 20 premiere, NBC has put together a video of the high- and lowlights of Leslie's campaign, from the dating scandal with Ben (Adam Scott), the rally by her friends to revive her campaign and her ultimate triumph in last season's finale. You can watch it exclusively on Zap2it for the next several hours. It's not the funniest "Parks and Rec" mashup you'll ever watch -- although Leslie's "I bet these pants will work for the public" line about halfway through the video is pretty awesome -- but it's really kind of inspiring. If only all elected officials were as gung-ho and altruistic... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/09/parks-and-recreation-looks-back-at-the-highs-and-lows-of-knope-2012.html

'Parks and Recreation': 'Breaking Bad's' Jonathan Banks is Ben's dad

The coming season of "Parks and Recreation" will introduce Ben's (Adam Scott) parents, and it's safe to say his dad will not be the sunniest guy you've ever met.Unless, that is, the "Parks" writers go against type, because they've cast Jonathan Banks of "Breaking Bad" in the role. "We were working the character description of Ben's dad, and I said aloud, 'He should act like Mike Ehrmentraut," showrunner Mike Schur tells Hitfix. "So somebody said, 'Well, why can't we just get Jonathan Banks?'"Meanwhile, TV Guide reports that Glenne Headly ("ER," "The Joneses") will play Ben's mom in the same episode. Her personality is closer to Ben's, and she takes a liking to Ben's girlfriend Leslie (Amy Poehler), but her mood will turn sour when Ben's dad shows up with a much younger girlfriend."Parks and Rec" premieres Sept. 20 on NBC. We'll meet Ben's parents in the season's sixth episode.... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/09/parks-and-recreation-breaking-bads-jonathan-banks-is-bens-dad.html
