Despite the type disadvantage, Ash and Oshawott are able to defeat Cilan and Pansage and earn their first Gym Battle in the Unova region. Following the battle, Ash is resting at the Pokémon Center when Iris comes rushing in saying that Axew fell asleep and won't wake up. This attracts the attention of Officer Jenny and a professor named Fennel. They reveal that the reason is being caused by someone disturbing the land at the nearby Dreamyard. Everyone then heads to the Dreamyard to find out what is going on.
