Revolution Season 1: The Curious Case of Danny Matheson

And we’re back! After a long winter hiatus, Revolution returned to us with an episode that was compelling and frustrating in equal measure largely due to the offing of one Danny Matheson. I’m no Danny fan, but after spending the entire first half of the season searching for the kid, I expected to at least get to know the asthmatic cutie a little better before he died heroically for the cause. Having had some time to reflect on the twist, I can’t decide if I’m excited about the new avenues of storytelling it opens up or disappointed by all the doors it slammed shut. READ MORE...

Giancarlo Esposito Talks REVOLUTION, Ensuring that He’s Not Repeating His BREAKING BAD Character, the Show’s Extended Hiatus, and More

After an extended hiatus, the NBC drama series Revolution is back with more action, heightened emotion and even higher stakes. At its heart, the story is about a family struggling to stay together in an American landscape where every single piece of technology – computers, planes, cars, phones and even lights – has mysteriously blacked out forever, or so they thought. Having harnessed the power of the pendant, militia leader Monroe (David Lyons) sets out to obliterate the Rebels, and if they don’t do something fast, they won’t stand a chance. From executive producers Eric Kripke, J.J. Abrams, Bryan Burk and Jon Favreau, the show also stars Billy Burke, Tracy Spiridakos, Giancarlo Esposito, Elizabeth Mitchell, Zak Orth, JD Pardo, Daniella Alonso and Tim Guinee. READ MORE...

Revolution is a lot more interesting now that it's a show about an arms race

Revolution started out as a show about America becoming a third-world country. And last night's episode showed what happens when someone gets first-world weapons. The result is sort of like the Star Trek episode where Kirk and the Klingons start giving people flintlocks. 'Revolution' midseason premiere shocker: Eric Kripke explains the dramatic ending (major spoilers)

Death came to "Revolution" again in the shocking ending to midseason premiere episode "The Stand." We're only halfway through Season 1 and the show has already lost its second full-time cast member, now that Danny (Graham Rogers) has joined Maggie (Anna Lise Phillips) as casualties of the increasingly dangerous rebellion."I think it's exactly the right type of shocking development that really ramps everybody up emotionally for their mission in the second half of the season," showrunner Eric Kripke says of the decision to kill off Danny. "It emotionally escalates everything."Poor Danny had only recently been reunited with his mother Rachel (Elizabeth Mitchell), sister Charlie (Tracy Spiridakos) and uncle Miles (Billy Burke) before he bravely faced off against an attacking Monroe militia helicopter and saved the rebels by shooting it down. As the copter came crashing down out of control, Danny was struck and killed by the spray of bullets."Every character needs an intense emotional drive... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/03/revolution-midseason-premiere-shocker-eric-kripke-explains-the-dramatic-ending.html

'Revolution': Charlie fights to keep her humanity in Season 1.5

Over the course of "Revolution's" first 10 episodes, Charlie Matheson (Tracy Spiridakos) went from a basically innocent young woman to a crusader bent on taking down the Monroe Republic. That's a lot for a 20-year-old to take on -- which is exactly what series creator Eric Kripke wanted to do with the charcater."She keeps evolving. That was always the point," Kripke tells Zap2it. "To me it was like Luke Skywalker when he wants to check out those power converters vs. Luke Skywalker's kicking Jabba the Hutt's a**. There's a change, and there's a growth."Putting so much on Charlie's shoulders, however, could take the character to some dark places. Spiridakos says that struggle is a big part of the second half of the season, which kicks off at 10 p.m. ET Monday (March 25) on NBC."So much happens in the fist half of the season, and in the second half she has to see if she's able... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/03/revolution-charlie-fights-to-keep-her-humanity-in-season-15.html
