Well.. that wasn't quite what I expected. Let me put it this way; I know we're not supposed to treat anything to serious in these series, but the dialogue/story/acting was pretty awful in this episode. I'm going to go ahead and be serious about it anyway: 1) Dialogue. Cheryl, during a heartbreaking moment, telling Archie his dad will make it: "Oh well. Toodles." The argument 'that is just her character' does not apply here, it's just ridiculous. On top of that, Cheryl her monologue of what happened to ther mom has to be one of the strangest written scripts I've ever seen. 2) Story. Betty and Jughead are enjoying breakfast at Pop's Diner where Pop himself (and no police / CSI present?) is mopping the blood of their best friends' dad off the floor. Archie (and everyone) decide it's a better idea for him to take a shower with his girlfriend while his dad could pass away any minute. Both of these things MAKE NO SENSE AT ALL. 3) Acting. It's no surprise that the overall acting is a bit off, but Archie trying to be emotional is absolutely cringy to watch. It's like trying to see Kristen Stewart take up a role as a plastic housewife - ew. Tl;dr - lots of drama again, curious to see if season 2 can live up to the hype of the previous one.
