'Sleepy Hollow' casts John Noble: 'Fringe' star will recur

"Sleepy Hollow" is keeping true to its inherent creepiness and has cast John Noble -- otherwise known as Dr. Walter Bishop on "Fringe" -- in a recurring guest-starring role. FOX announced Friday (Sept. 20) that Noble would appear over several episodes, starting later in Season 1. He will play a man named Henry Parrish. Described as kind and reclusive, he "possesses supernatural powers that have the potential to help the series' protagonist, Ichabod Crane."With this role, Noble collaborates once again with "Sleepy Hollow" producers Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Heather Kadin -- all formerly involved with "Fringe."Nominated in 2012 and honored in 2011 for a Critics' Choice Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series award, Noble spent five seasons on "Fringe" playing Bishop -- a mentally disturbed scientist who alternated between inventing ways to end the world and exhibiting a childish love of candy and cows. The Australian actor also played Denethor in the... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/09/sleepy-hollow-casts-john-noble-fringe-star-will-recur.html

'Sleepy Hollow' premiere: Will you keep watching Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman?

"Sleepy Hollow" premiered Monday night (Sept. 16) on FOX, a sort-of modern imagining of Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman, except that Ichabod is not a modern man -- he's the original Ichabod from the Revolutionary War who finds himself in present-day Sleepy Hollow. It's a weird little burg that has a unsolved murder problem, with deputy Abbie Mills seemingly on her way out for bigger and brighter things in Quantico. But she ends up staying after the Sheriff is beheaded by the Headless Horseman (whom Ichabod decapitated way back when) and Mills becomes the new sheriff. Mills actually kind of believes Ichabod's wild tale, but mostly because she saw the Headless Horseman riding away. She's going to help him investigate what's happening -- especially since a reverend from way back when is a reverend in the present day and the Horseman kills him with one swing of his axe. Also because Mills saw something unusual... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/09/sleepy-hollow-premiere-will-you-keep-watching-ichabod-crane-and-the-headless-horseman.html

'Sleepy Hollow' Season 1: Halloween every week is great, just please no time travel

Faced with the prospect of taking Washington Irving's iconic character Ichabod Crane into the 21st century, Alex Kurtzman knew there was one thing he must resolutely avoid."We've done a lot of time-travel movies," he says toZap2it  referring to himself and his writing/producing partner Robert Orci, "and we're like, 'Please, don't make us do time travel. It's too much. "Starting Monday, Sept. 16, on FOX, Kurtzman and Orci's latest project, "Sleepy Hollow," takes Crane and his nemesis, the Headless Horseman, and Crane's love Katrina, from Irving's original 1820 story, puts them out of commission for about two-and-a-half centuries and then resurrects them in the modern-day suburban New York town.British actor Tom Mison stars as Crane, who's been transformed into a two-fisted English emigrant who participates in the Revolutionary War.But when Crane beheads a fearsome soldier and loses his life (apparently) in the bargain, he is hidden in the earth. Then he and the now-Headless Horseman rise... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/09/sleepy-hollow-season-1-halloween-every-week-is-great-just-please-no-time-travel.html

'Sleepy Hollow': If you want 'Assassin's Creed: The TV series,' then go for it

Welcome to "5 Questions and 500 Words," The Boob Tube Dude's approach this year to reviewing the sundry pilots that will be unspooling over the course of the next few weeks. Given the glut of shows, and the glut of reviews that will be published for these shows, I'm keeping things short and sweet. This is for your convenience and my sanity."Sleepy Hollow," premieres Sept. 16 at 9 pm ET on FOX.Is this show as bug nuts as I've heard?Yes and no. When it goes weird, it goes balls-out weird. If reading "the Headless Horseman walks around modern-day rural New York wielding automatic weapons" gets you excited, then by all means watch. Just know that the sizzle reels for this show contains all the completely bats*** stuff.Well, what's in the other 40 minutes of the pilot?A lot of exposition, which is necessary in most pilots in order to establish the premise but nevertheless will... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/09/sleepy-hollow-if-you-want-assassins-creed-the-tv-series-then-go-for-it.html

'Sleepy Hollow's Tom Mison loves bees, reads Vonnegut and drinks whiskey

Tom Mison has gotten his first big American-TV break with, rather appropriately, his role as an English expatriate in America in the fantasy drama "Sleepy Hollow," premiering Monday, Sept. 16 on FOX.In this mash-up of Washington Irving''s "Sleepy Hollow" and "Rip Van Winkle," along with some bits from the biblical Book of Revelation and a dose of "National Treasure," 31-year-old Mison plays Revolutionary War soldier Ichabod Crane. After beheading the now-Headless Horseman in battle and getting impaled for his trouble, Crane slumbers for a couple centuries or so and wakes up -- along with the Horseman -- in modern-day Sleepy Hollow, N.Y. There he gets embroiled in supernatural mysteries while trying to keep a good head on his shoulders. In real life, Mison might need a good back massage and a ride home after he downs his three favorite alcoholic beverages (but don't suggest coffee in Swansea) ...What's the current home-screen picture on your phone?A bee in... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/09/sleepy-hollows-tom-mison-loves-bees-reads-vonnegut-and-drinks-whiskey.html
