'Sons of Anarchy': Peter Weller talks 'One One Six,' Season 6's climax

brightcove.createExperiences(); Peter Weller is a familiar presence on "Sons of Anarchy," even if he didn't get a character on the show until the Season 6 premiere, "Straw." The man best known for playing RoboCop is a regular director on the "Sons," having helmed five episodes from previous seasons and three episodes in Season 6, including tonight's "One One Six." While he was promoting the "Star Trek Into Darkness" Blu-ray and Digital release, Zap2it spoke with Weller about the way "One One Six" deals with the aftermath of the school shooting in "Straw." He says this was an especially hard episode for him to direct because he and his wife Sheri Stowe are parents to a 2-year-old son. "I've got a 2-year-old kid. Everybody's got kids on the set, and that first episode, you see it. Everyone who's got a kid is going to go, wow," Weller says. In terms of having an episode deal... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/09/sons-of-anarchy-peter-weller-talks-one-one-six-season-6s-climax.html

'Sons of Anarchy': Kim Coates and Mark Boone Junior talk Tig, Bobby and the Bahamas

brightcove.createExperiences(); "Sons of Anarchy" kicked off Season 6 with a bang last week, capping the episode off with an elementary school shooting that will set the tone for the rest of the show. Zap2it caught up with Kim Coates and Mark Boone Junior at the show's red carpet premiere and they confirm it's bad times ahead for SAMCRO. At least they do it with a little humor, though. When asked what's to come for Tig, Coates jokes he's hitting the road, doing stand up comedy around the country. Getting serious, he admits, "It's the most depressing season, by far." He says the mayhem and drama, including maybe a lead character death, is so high that it "is so sad. It's sad."Still, he says there will still be a bit of Tig's signature weird humor that brings a lot of levity to the show. "Tig's wacky, man. He's got his s*** so totally together and not... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/09/sons-of-anarchy-kim-coates-and-mark-boone-junior-talk-tig-bobby-and-the-bahamas.html

'Sons of Anarchy' Season 6: Kurt Sutter explains setting of premiere shocker

In the sixth-season opener of "Sons of Anarchy," which aired Tuesday (Sept. 10) creator and executive producer Kurt Sutter -- who's married to series star Katey Sagal and also plays imprisoned biker Otto Delaney -- drew on his own childhood to inform a horrific event that will reverberate throughout the season.(If you don't want to be spoiled, stop reading now.)The Northern California motorcycle club at the center of the show has its fingers in a number of illegal enterprises -- including pornography and drugs -- but gun-running has long been its main business. It stands to reason that when one peddles illegal weapons, that one of those weapons will eventually surface at the center of something terrible.Last night, a troubled boy took one of those guns and opened fire inside his Catholic school. But, when one looks at the sad history of mass school shootings in the United States, Catholic schools are remarkably absent. And in... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/09/sons-of-anarchy-season-6-premiere-kurt-sutter-explains-setting-of-premiere-shocker.html

'Sons of Anarchy': Maggie Siff says Tara is 'the place people go to to see their dreams die'

Characters are constantly changing on "Sons of Anarchy," likely none more so than Tara (Maggie Siff), who began Season 1 with a bright future as a surgeon ahead of her and starts Season 6 in jail due to her connection to a murder. In a conference call, Siff talked about her character's dark turn, as well as her relationship with Jax (Charlie Hunnam) and the school shooting that capped off the premiere episode."I've been joking that Tara is the place people go to to see their dreams die," Maggie says. "What surprises me is the darker and darker progression of the things that she sees fall away." She's not kidding. Not only is Tara separated from her children, whom she loves above all others, but she's also pulling away from Jax."They're in such a disconnected place from each other right now," she says. "At the end of Season 5 we saw this incredible disillusionment, on... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/09/sons-of-anarchy-maggie-siff-says-tara-is-the-place-people-go-to-to-see-their-dreams-die.html

Sons of Anarchy Season Preview: Now What?!?

Anal rape. Torture porn. A shootout. A drowning. A sex scene. Sons of Anarchy Season 6 got off to the show's typically wild start last night, with one major exception: a school shooting. Indeed, the event that concluded " Straw " has the Internet buzzing and creator Kurt Sutter explaining. In multiple interviews, he's said the goal is not to take a political stance as much as to depict how SAMCRO's gun-running actions have serious consequences. 'Sons of Anarchy' Season 6: Kurt Sutter defends controversial premiere event

When the end credits rolled for the Season 6 premiere of "Sons of Anarchy," fans were left with their jaws on the floor. While violence is a normal component of the show, an elementary school shooting isn't something anyone saw coming. Anyone besides series creator Kurt Sutter, that is.The shooting is something Sutter has had in mind for a few years, long before the December 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. "I know that's easy to say in terms of ducking controversy," Kurt tells Zap2it. "For me, I almost feel not to tell that story would be a disservice."Sutter's reasoning for the event is very clear, "You have a guy who's a father and is trying to figure out if he can raise his sons and distance them from the violence. And he's a gun dealer. How do you not tell that story?"The timing is also important. "Sons of Anarchy" will... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/09/sons-of-anarchy-season-6-kurt-sutter-defends-controversial-premiere-event.html

'Sons of Anarchy' Season 6 premiere - 'Straw': One moment changes everything

The following contains spoilers from the Season 6 premiere of "Sons of Anarchy." Don't read if you don't want to know. When we left off, "Sons of Anarchy" was pure chaos. Tara (Maggie Siff) was headed to prison, Clay (Ron Perlman) was framed for murder, Jax (Charlie Hunnam) was becoming the type of club president we all hoped he wouldn't and, most importantly, Otto (Kurt Sutter) lost another body part. Rest in peace, Otto's tongue.Fast forward a bit and you come across Season 6. With only two seasons left to complete his vision, Sutter is bent on making the story of "Sons of Anarchy" as deeply disturbing as possible, and the premiere, "Straw," does just that. The biggest news out of the episode occurred near the end, when a young boy (Tate Berney), who popped up in nearly every scene, walks into his school with a gun and opens fire, after rolling up his sleeves to reveal... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/09/sons-of-anarchy-season-6-premiere---straw-one-moment-changes-everything.html
