'Star-Crossed' didn't get a Season 2, and we're still mad about Roman & Emery

Season 1 of "Star-Crossed" came to a close one year ago from Tuesday (May 12), and for fans of the show -- even those who recently discovered it on Netflix -- the lack of a second season is still a sore subject. Following news that The CW wouldn't be getting a Season 2, Zap2it spoke with creator Meredith Averill about everything that would have happened on the show if the series had been picked up for a second round. Unfortunately for Roman (Matt Lanter) and Emery (Aimee Teegarden) shippers, Averill said that the pair wouldn't have ended up together. "At the end of the day, I always thought that Emery and Grayson (Drey Damon) would be the ones to be together," said Averill. "He's not conflicted. It's not complicated for Grayson, [as shown in] what he says to her in the finale: It's always her."RELATED: What 'Star-Crossed' Season 2 would've been: Romery, Drawler and... //

Star-Crossed: Could Netflix Host a Season 2?

The CW aired Star-Crossed's big finale last night, and it was absolutely explosive, and left a ton of loose ends. To give some idea, a big ol' spaceship full of angry Atrians, who have apparently just been chillin' and getting mad for the past decade, heading toward Earth was maybe the least stressful cliffhanger. After all, pregnant Taylor (Natalie Hall) got in a car crash and seemed near-death, Emery (Aimee Teegarden) was unresponsive after the Suvek was deployed, and Grayson (Gray Damon)... //

'Star-Crossed': 3 Things that Could Have Saved the Show

What could the CW's Star-Crossed have done differently that might have saved the show from cancellation?   The CW is not picking the freshmen drama  Star-Crossed  up for another season, despite an interesting premise and support from such stars as William Shatner, arguably a sci-fi legend himself.    Read More... //

The preview opens where we ended last week, with a mortally wounded Roman (Matt Lanter) taking refuge in Emery Whitehill (Aimee... //

Star-Crossed: Was It Based on a Book?

So many of our favorite scripted shows were novels first — like The Vampire Diaries, True Blood, Pretty Little Liars, and Game of Thrones. TV shows that aren’t literary adaptations actually seem few and far between! Does Star-Crossed follow suit? Strictly speaking, Star-Crossed is not based on a book, although the show's title, episode names, and basic plot contain many references to Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Nods to an influential work do not an adaptation make, though! “We didn’t go... //

‘Star-Crossed’ (Season 1): The Premature End of Another Sci-Fi Drama

The cliffhanger! That damn plot device used in fiction that always finds a main character (or characters) in a perilous situation that could have catastrophic results. This plot device is used far too often in television, leaving the viewer wondering for months what will become of their favorite characters. When a new drama ends in a cliffhanger, it just adds an extra layer of mystery to the show; hopefully bringing the fans back for the show’s second season. But when that new drama has a cliffhanger ending but the show does not get a renewal order from their respective network, well, it makes for a very unpleasant experience for the viewers. They are left with so many questions, wondering what happened to all of the characters and what could have been. Such is the case with  Star-Crossed , the new sci-fi series on The CW that ended with a cliffhanger last night but was cancelled by the network last week. Read More... //
