'Super Fun Night' premiere: Will Rebel Wilson have a date with you each week?

"Super Fun Night" premiered Wednesday (Oct. 2), one of ABC's new fall comedies. This one features Rebel Wilson, Liza Lapira and Lauren Ash as three kind of dorky, kind of wallflowery friends who decide it's time to grab life by the cajones.Wilson is a very charming woman and can be very funny, but this sitcom just doesn't do it for us, to be honest. She calls it the "anti-'Sex and the City,'" but we don't actually think that's true. That's more like "Girls." It's also very distracting that Wilson can't use her real accent, which she says is actually making it hard for her to speak normally, now that she's been using an American accent for the show. Heh.Either way, we don't foresee ourselves setting the DVR for this one every week. What do you think, viewers? Will you be tuning in again?... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/10/super-fun-night-premiere-will-rebel-wilson-have-a-date-with-you-each-week.html

'Super Fun Night's' Rebel Wilson: 'I don't care what I look like'

Rebel Wilson's dress bursts open, revealing a pink bra and panties, which naturally have light-up hearts strategically placed. Underneath, she wears Spanx. The overall effect is silly and funny, and only someone wildly unself-conscious could pull it off.Wilson, star and writer of ABC's "Super Fun Night," premiering Wednesday, Oct. 2, reflects on that scene."To me, it's not brave," she says toZap2it. "I am just doing what the character would do. It was freezing that night. It was damp and beastly cold. I don't care what I look like if it is funny."She draws from her life for this show, in which she plays Kimmie, an attorney just promoted within a large New York law firm. In 2009, Wilson graduated from law school. She worked briefly "giving free legal advice at a clinic," she says, "but I could not get a job at a law firm because I was on a TV show."In her native Australia, Wilson was... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/10/super-fun-nights-rebel-wilson-i-dont-care-what-i-look-like.html

'Super Fun Night': Rebel Wilson comedy almost wins ... Almost

Rebel Wilson is a hilarious actress. The star of a new comedy, "Super Fun Night," was incredible in "Pitch Perfect" and beautifully insane at the MTV Movie Awards. A sitcom should be a slam dunk after that, right?Unfortunately, episodic comedy is harder than you'd think. "Super Fun Night" is thus not quite what we might want. But ...Here's the thing: This is a good show. It's funny, it's weird and it makes heroes out of the kinds of women usually shoved to the side in popular entertainment. Basically, "Super Fun Night" is everything that an intelligent -- but socially insecure -- person who also enjoyed "Bridesmaids" would like. It's just that Rebel Wilson is so very funny that we expect a glorious cavalcade of laughs in every second. When "Super Fun Night" delivers such hilarity only every few minutes, it feels like a letdown. But how many comedies can really do better? So what is this show?"Super... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/10/super-fun-night-rebel-wilson-comedy-almost-wins-almost.html

'Super Fun Night': Rebel Wilson comedy to debut with episode 2

"Super Fun Night," a new ABC comedy starring Rebel Wilson ("Pitch Perfect," "Bridesmaids"), will not premiere with its original pilot episode. Instead, the show will bring out episode 2 as the first things audiences see (per TVLine). This may be a good choice. In the comedy, Kimme (Wilson) and her two best friends are happy but socially awkward friends who spend every Friday evening in, entertaining themselves. The pilot episode has Kimmie getting a job promotion that makes her decide to try going out for once. Wacky hijinks naturally ensue, making the women question going out of doors ever again. The new first episode focuses on another Friday night out on the town. Since Kimmie has a major fear of singing in public, she and her friends will head to a piano bar for some tunes. Matt Lucas (who shared scenes with Wilson in "Bridesmaids") guest-stars in the episode. Why the change? Lots of reasons are possible. The ‘Super Fun Night’ Cast Get Down to “Don’t Stop Me Now”

It’s hard to hear Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Know” without thinking of the epic zombie-killing scene in Shaun of the Dead , but if anyone has a chance of upstaging Simon Pegg and zombies it’s Rebel Wilson. Wilson and the rest of the cast of ABC’s upcoming  Super Fun Night  put on quite a show in a two-minute video set to “Don’t Stop Me Now.” There’s hairbrush singing, spazzy dancing and a hilarious capper at the end. The jury is still out on just how super fun the series will actually be, but we can go ahead and give the entire cast kudos for their overall adorableness. Watch the video below.
