'Supernatural's' Jim Beaver returns: Will he become an angry spirit?

The only thing we love more than a hilarious "Supernatural" episode is a hilarious "Supernatural" episode that leaves us with a welcome case of emotional whiplash. This week's episode, "Party On Garth," was mostly light-hearted monster-catching fun, complete with a visit from the hilarious, barely competent Garth (D.J. Qualls). After giggling through the Winchesters' boozy antics, though, we suddenly found ourselves on the opposite end of the spectrum when Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) finally talked about the possibility that they're being haunted by Bobby (Jim Beaver).Despite multiple strange coincidences, which we saw in a rather unnecessary flashback montage (we got it the first time!), and Bobby's old flask giving off EMF, Sam had already ruled out Bobby's spirit hanging around. He revealed to Dean that he'd attempted to contact Bobby shortly after his death, to no avail. But either Sam's getting rusty or Bobby was too preoccupied with Dean at that time,... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/03/supernaturals-jim-beaver-returns-but-will-we-see-him-again.html

Supernatural Preview: You'll be 'Garthed' in Episode 7.18

The character of Garth (guest star DJ Qualls) was first introduced in an earlier episode of Supernatural where Becky married Sam (which, frankly, some fans would prefer to forget).  But Qualls was both humorous and amusing and has earned a spot as a recurring guest star.  He'll be returning in the upcoming March 30 episode, titled "Party on, Garth". It looks like Garth will be salting and burning some bones in hopes of stopping a ghost's killing spree. But when the deaths continue, he'll quickly realize that he's not just chasing a ghost.  So he calls in the Winchesters for some help, according to this clip .  The boys soon realize that they're chasing a Shojo, a Japanese creature that can only be seen when you're drunk.  How drunk?  As drunk as "the CW standards and practices will allow us [to be]," producer Robert Singer explains. 'Supernatural': D.J. Qualls returns, ready to get tipsy

Friday's "Supernatural" episode was an emotional tearjerker, but thanks to Castiel making some amends, Sam (Jared Padalecki) is back in fighting condition for this week's episode. "Party On, Garth" provides some much-needed lighthearted relief from all that angst and trauma when the Winchesters meet up with their pal Garth (D.J. Qualls) in Kansas. In the clip below, Garth gives Sam and Dean (Jensen Ackles) a surprise when they find him investigating their victim at the morgue dressed as an Air Force Corporal. Because he looks good in uniform, duh. Now that Sam's brain is working, he can get his research on -- which is a good thing, because Dean and Garth's best guess at their monster-of-the-week is "invisible ghost werewolf." Sam finds a connection to Thighslapper Ale, though, a microbrew which Dean refers to as a "beverage for douchebags."Hopefully he's ready to douche it up, though, because this is a monster that can only be seen... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/03/supernatural-dj-qualls-returns-ready-to-get-tipsy.html

Supernatural Promo: Garth Returns and the Boys Go on a Crazy Hunt in Episode 7.18

Sam suffered from a complete breakdown in this week's episode of Supernatural.  After days of not sleeping because of Lucifer's constant meddling, he got hit by a car and ended up in a mental hospital after the doctors diagnosed his condition.  Dean set out to find a way to help his brother, which eventually led him to a healer that was supposed to be legitimate: a man named Emmanuel, who just so happened to look exactly like Castiel (guest star Misha Collins). In fact, it was Castiel, who walked out of the lake months ago and established a new life, complete with amnesia about his true identity and a wife.  He and Dean set off to help Sam, but a lot of demons decided to track Dean along the way.  He got into a spot of trouble until Meg joined in.  Together, they made their way to the hospital and, when they encountered some demon guards, Dean and Meg told Cas the truth about his identity.  He managed to reactivate his demon smiting powers, which jogged his memory. Supernatural Photos: DJ Qualls Returns in Episode 7.18

DJ Qualls first appeared earlier this season in the Supernatural episode "Season 7, Time for a Wedding!".  The episode itself may not have been a hit with the fans, but Qualls proved himself a fun guest star.  He'll be making a return appearance in the upcoming March 30 episode, titled "Party on, Garth". It sounds like we're in for a very amusing episode for Qualls' return.  Garth reaches out to the Winchester brothers for help with a case he's working on.  Only this is a creature they've never faced before.  They realize they're going up against a Japanese creature - a Shojo - who is summoned to seek revenge on enemies. The twist is that Shojos can only be seen when they're drunk. Who's the best drunk of them all?  Dean Winchester, of course!  Rumor has it this episode is hilarious.  I think the last time we saw Dean "funny drunk" (instead of "morose drunk") was season 4's "Yellow Fever", which was a treat.  Plus, here's a bonus for you...Dean gets to wield a pretty awesome looking sword! The only real question, of course, is how Sam manages to get himself out of the mental hospital he'll be checked into in the upcoming March 23 episode because of his Lucifer hallucinations.  Will the recently-returned Castiel be able to heal him, or will Dean find another way to save his brother? After this episode, Supernatural will go on hiatus for two weeks and then return on April 20, with five episodes in a row until the season finale on May 18. Use the arrows above to browse through photos for the March 30 episode of Supernatural, airing at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.  For more about the show, browse through our new Supernatural showpage . //feedproxy.google.com/~r/tvovermind/tvnews/~3/a8GsNNlzRr8/supernatural-photos-season-7-episode-18-party-on-garth

'Supernatural' preview: Misha Collins returns as Castiel... with Meg!

"Supernatural" fans have been waiting for Castiel (Misha Collins) to return to the series since his last appearance in the second episode of the season, when the Leviathan monsters possessed his body and walked it to the bottom of a lake. Now, the countdown is on. Collins will come back in "The Born-Again Identity," the March 23 episode, and he'll appear in two more episodes this season. When Sam has to be institutionalized after completely losing grasp on reality, Dean scours Bobby's old contacts for help, which leads him to Castiel. As the title implies, Castiel has no memory of actually being Castiel. Dean's old friend is living as a healer (with a few other intriguing powers) but has no idea that he's an angel, or who Dean is. Given the fact that Castiel is the one who knocked down the wall in Sam's head in the first place, he's likely the only person who... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/03/supernatural-preview-misha-collins-returns-as-castiel-with-meg.html
