'The Daily Show' and 'Colbert Report' go live on election night

Comedy Central will give you a chance to mix in some (intentional) comedy with your election-night news: "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report" are going live Tuesday (Nov. 6). The two shows will each air half-hour live editions starting at 11 p.m. ET/8 PT Tuesday. First up is "Election Night 2012: This Ends Now," hosted by Jon Stewart. It will be followed by Stephen Colbert's "Election 2012: A Nation Votes, Ohio Decides; The Re-Presidenting of America: Who Will Replace Obama? '012!"Both Stewart and Colbert have done live editions for past elections, with mixed results. The outcome of the election will very likely still be in doubt when their shows air, so they'll be reacting to and riffing on incomplete results. Airing live also means the two shows can't really string together clips of other networks' coverage for comedic effect.Still, it's live TV in the hands of two pretty talented hosts and two strong teams... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/11/the-daily-show-and-colbert-report-go-live-on-election-night.html

Bjork Performs On Colbert, Talks Science, Math

Bjork dropped by "The Colbert Report" Tuesday night, in advance of her New York City residency , sporting a hairdo resembling a flattened beehive and opening herself up to Colbert ridicule from the get-go. Colbert didn't take the bait, however, focusing on her latest album, Biophilia , which explores themes of nature and science. It comes with an iPad component -- an interactive app to go with each song -- that both took us back to the days of sitting down with an album and made us wonder, is this the future of albums ? Colbert kept things simple, fumbling with her apps on stage and asking, why, why the apps? Bjork explains how she's never been able to play a guitar or piano and sing at the same time, "like those troubadour people." With the touchscreen option available for her as a musician, she thought, "finally, I can be a troubadour!"
