Video: Jennifer Lopez Performs on 'Ellen DeGeneres Show'

Jennifer Lopez was "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" musical guest on December 3. The singer delivered her new single "Louboutins", performing a dance routine similar to the one she did at 2009 American Music Awards during when she took a tumble. This time around, she didn't fall though. Before taking the mic for a live performance, Jennifer sat down with Ellen DeGeneres for an interview. Despite her previous statement to Ryan Seacrest that the trip was part of choreography, she admitted that it indeed was an accident. "I have a bruised bone. What happened was one of the dancers' backs was slippery from sweat and lights and everything. We never bargained for that because they always had T-shirts on in rehearsal," she said. "So they were barebacked, didn't have shirts on for the performance, and when I stepped on their backs my feet got wet. So when I landed. It just slipped from under me." Ellen then handed Jennifer a cushion, knee pad and helmet when the singer prepared for her "Louboutins" set. In response, Jennifer jokingly said, "I'm going to try my hardest not to fall on my *ss." Love her!

Ellen has had alot of guests over the past 6 seasons, but she has finally announced that Portia is going to be on in January to promote her new show Better off Ted. In my opinion it's about time. Some people including myself are really into Ellen. She is a pioneer for gays everywhere. When Portia and Ellen are on the show together it will be a long overdue interview.

Shows B-Day!

On May 18, 2006, the show celebrated its 500th episode. On November 19, 2007, the show celebrated its 700th episode, even though the actual 700th show was over a month earlier.

Unlike most talk shows, the show uses a disc jockey to supply music rather than a band. The current DJ is Ted Stryker of KROQ. In season 5, the DJ is having a more pivotal role in the show, talking to Ellen at the beginning of the show and helping her interview audience members. Stryker replaced actor/DJ Jon Abrahams on September 4, 2007 at the beginning of her Season 5 premiere. Jon Abrahams replaced Tony Okungbowa after Okungbowa left on May 22, 2006 to advance his acting career in Hollywood. [10] Abrahams' first day as DJ was September 4, 2006, the first day of the show's fourth season. Tony has returned as a substitute DJ.

Since the show's debut, DeGeneres has segued from her opening monologue by doing a dance. The dancing proved to be extremely popular with viewers, and has since progressed to a segment where DeGeneres dances into the audience, sometimes borrowing a coat or purse from someone's chair, and taking it with her. She has also featured a segment in which people teach her new dance moves. During the early 2006 season, Ellen shortened her dance routine and did not go through the audience, making more time for segments. Upset fans sent thousands of e-mails to Ellen as a result of this, and the dancing resumed as usual a few days later. One of her most famous dance moves is dancing over the table, and although she does not do it every day, it is a reccurring theme.
