The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is a late-night talk show that launched on September 8, 2015. The program is recorded at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City (formerly the home of Late Show With David Letterman) and airs live to tape in most U.S. markets weeknights. Colbert rose to fame as a correspondent on Jon Stewart's incarnation of The Daily Show, and despite a slow start, has made significant ratings gains against its late-night competitors.
