'X Factor': Astro's amends, Simon Cowell's replacement and Aaron Paul

The theme this week on "The X Factor" is "things we're thankful for." Well, we're thankful for all the fun stuff behind-the-scenes intrigue at the singing competition. Here the best of what occurred when the cameras stopped rolling:Signs, signs, everywhere there's a sign - So many people bring placards to "The X Factor." Usually they just say who they're rooting for. But the big surprise on Tuesday (Nov. 22) was one that said "Simon's a Hottie."Now kiss and make up - After last week when Bill "The Warm Up Guy" said that Paula Abdul looked "ridiculous," he chose his words better. This week he says to Abdul, "You look amazing." Probably a good idea to make nice with those who can have you fired.Siskel and Ebert - Simon Cowell was very impressed with Melanie Amaro's performance of the R. Kelly tune "The World's Greatest." After she finished he gave her two emphatic thumbs up before... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/11/x-factor-astros-amends-simon-cowells-replacement-and-aaron-paul.html

'X Factor's' Josh Krajcik nails 'Wild Horses'

Inspirational song week was already a really strong episode of "The X Factor," but Josh Krajcik's ending performance on "Wild Horses" by the Rolling Stones sealed the deal. Wonderful. We can't remember if we've seen him play the piano before, but we definitely loved that. And his sound was pitch-perfect. An outstanding combination of his rock 'n roll rasp and some lovely tender moments. Fantastic. The judges were also complimentary. L.A. told him he has the right amount of everything, Nicole was effusively praised by Simon for her work as the over-30s mentor. What did you think, "X Factor" fans?... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/11/x-factors-josh-krajcik-nails-wild-horses.html

'X Factor's' L.A. Reid shows complete ignorance for music he didn't produce

We started off "The X Factor's" first season really liking L.A. Reid as a judge. He wasn't afraid to disagree and stand up to Simon Cowell, which is something the judges rarely did on "American Idol." We were slightly less on board when L.A. turned into the world's biggest name-dropper. Nary a performance can go by without him mentioning Justin Bieber or Boyz II Men or whoever else he has produced music for. Super annoying. We get it, you work in the music industry. Brush the giant chip off your shoulder and let's move on.But Tuesday night's (Nov. 22) Top 10 performance show really took dislike to a whole new level. After Drew Ryniewicz sang "Skyscraper," L.A.'s entire criticism (which he pointed towards Simon, because L.A. constantly feels the need to prove that he's better than Simon) was that Drew should sing age-appropriate songs, not "songs for people that are 40."Except "Skyscraper" is by Demi... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/11/x-factors-la-reid-shows-complete-ignorance-for-music-he-didnt-produce.html

James Durbin Offers Advice to 'X-Factor's' Chris Rene, Weighs in on Astro's Attitude (Video)

On the eve of his debut album release,  James Durbin  had a few words of advice for  X Factor  contestants  Chris Rene  and  Astro . "I’m glad  Simon [Cowell]  gave Astro a good kick in the pants," the  American Idol  alum told  The Hollywood Reporter  at Sunday’s American Music Awards. "Attitudes are unacceptable on the show. It doesn’t do anything for you." The budding hip-hop star made waves for his controversial and cavalier attitude, when he nearly refused to sing his survival song after landing in the bottom two last week. He later issued an apology to fans on his Facebook page after claiming that he didn’t want to rap for people who didn’t want to hear him. 'X Factor': Lakoda Rayne believes 'We have an advantage now'

The last two weeks of "The X Factor" have offered a whipsaw of emotions for the country pop quartet Lakoda Rayne. It was just Nov. 10 that the group found themselves in the bottom two singing simply to stay in the competition. Only seven days later, Paige Elizabeth, Cari Fletcher, Dani Knights and Hayley Orrantia were considered "safe" almost immediately."It's was huge difference to go from being in the bottom two to being one of the first people called, even if it's in no particular order," says Orrantia. But coming off the previous week, the women of Lakoda Rayne certainly were on edge. The prospect of being up for elimination had them practicing a tune repeatedly just in case they had to perform again."We were not very secure when we were out on that stage because of the week prior," Knight says. "I think all of us thought there is a huge chance that we could be... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/11/x-factor-lakoda-rayne-believes-we-have-an-advantage-now.html
