Thirty four year olds Paula and Jermaine make a good living earning a combined $140,000 annually, which should be enough for them and their toddler, Marcus, to live on comfortably. They have made the decision that both Paula's parents - one who lives out-of-town - act as the daycare and often nighttime providers for Marcus, with one continuous half week chunk where they do not see Marcus at all, all in a supposed effort to cut costs.
