'True Blood' Releases Production Start Teaser - Featured

Even the production start of " True Blood " gets an exclusively-made teaser. Without revealing any plot or characters, HBO announces that the third season is officially on track in production stage. The footage uses mostly the making of its synthetic blood drink, TruBlood. Watch the Production Start Teaser The new chapter in Sookie and vampire Bill saga will unfold in June 2010. Creator Alan Ball has added a lot of new characters and revamped the storyline in a way that the villain is no longer one but three. "We have a triumvirate of evil this season," he told EW. "I'm talking about Franklin Mott, Russell Edgington, and Debbie Pelt. They are all bad to the bone. They're not just crazy, they're evil." The show has found actors for Russell aka King of Mississippi and Franklin in Denis O'Hare and James Frain respectively but is yet to discover an actress for Debbie. "We actually beefed up Debbie. She's going to be in more episodes, so maybe that will have an impact on [what actress] we can get for her, which is a big question right now," he revealed the reason of late casting. In addition to the whole villain dynamic, the main characters are also facing personal demons. "He will continue to explore the whole Sookie thing and what that's all about," Alexander Skarsgard said about his character Eric. "He's trying to figure out what's different about her. He's intrigued by that. And in addition to that, there's something that happened a thousand years ago that he's still carrying in his heart. All I'll say is he's trying to avenge someone." Coming to True Blood: A Triumvirate of Evil! - Featured

Love her or hate her, Maryann provided quite the evil presence on True Blood last season. How will she be replaced going forward? By multiple nefarious forces, says series creator Alan Ball. In an interview with Michael Ausiello, Ball hypes the presence of three new character on season three as accounting for some serious trouble ahead: We have a triumvirate of evil this season, he said. I'm talking about Franklin Mott, Russell Edgington, and Debbie Pelt. They are all bad to the bone. They're not just crazy, they're evil. James Frain will portray Mott, a blood-sucking love interest for Tara; Denis O'Hare is on board as Edgington; and Pelt has not been cast yet. Nevertheless, the latter's role has already been increased. We actually beefed up Debbie, Ball said of Alcide's ex-girlfriend. ''She's going to be in more episodes, so maybe that will have an impact on [what actress] we can get for her, which is a big question right now." Source Here

'True Blood' Explores Bill-Sam Relationship Erotically

The third season of "True Blood" will explore same-sex relationship beyond Lafayette and his new lover, Jesus. Bill and Sam who used to compete for Sookie's love, will be entangled in something which creator Alan Ball described to EW as "erotic connection". Bill will be "donating" blood to save Sam's life, much like when he saved Sookie when she was beaten by a couple who wants to take his blood for V in the first season. Ball elaborated, the two men will have "not just any connection" but "an erotic connection." For a fact, when a vampire's blood runs inside someone, the vampire will be able to sense and feel the person. Ball won't go into details but shared a bit about Lafayette and new character Jesus who is played by Kevin Alejandro. "[Lafayette] is very guarded and Jesus is a guy [is] willing to knock down some of those guards," said Ball. "[Though] it's not an easy relationship, they have a lot in common. They're both shamans of sorts, healers, so there's a reason they get brought together." The third season will begin in June. "True Blood" missed a shot at winning an award at recent Golden Globes when Anna Paquin lost to Julianna Margulies of "The Good Wife" in the Best Drama Actress in Series category. Source Here

Jason Stackhouse waking up with two women next to him, though Ryan Kwanten says he's looking forward a more meaningful romance for his character: "He will find love in the werewolf world, and love is a pretty unknown concept for him." Speaking of that world, most fans are aware that Joe Manganiello has been cast as Alcide. As readers of the book franchise on which True Blood is based know, Alcide's girlfriend Debbie Pelt will also come abord the drama. She'll debut on the third episode and, as Ball told TV Guide Magazine, is "a badass bitch you do not want to get on the wrong side of. She is not going to like Sookie." Source here

True Blood Creator Talks Alcide, Season Three Romances - Featured

True Blood has made a number of casting moves over the last few weeks. And that's almost an understatement. Denis O'Hare, Marshall Allman, Theo Alexander, Grant Bowler, Kevin Alejandro and Lindsay Pulsipher will also play key roles on season three. But creator Alan Ball - who signed a new contract this week that ensures at least four full season of the show - isn't shy about citing the most important casting addition: Joe Manganiello as Alcide. The new character (a werewolf) plays an integral part in the book series on which True Blood is based. How did Ball know he found the right actor for the role? We were looking for a guy who was big, sexy, decent and heroic, with some darkness, he told Entertainment Weekly. And [Manganiello] showed us all of that in the audition. As for Alcide's relationship with Sookie (semi-spoiler alert!), the werefold isn't introduced as a potential suitor for Bill's gal. As in the book, he's helping her find Bill; and he has a business reason for owing Eric a favor," Ball said. He's there with her during a very painful time in her life - and his life, actually. And they're thrown into some pretty intense situations together. And hello, he's hot! And hello, so is she. Two hot people in some intense situations and, for whatever reasons, their significant others are not there... they're human. Well, not exactly. But we get his point - and can't wait to see how it all plays out. Source Here
