'True Detective' Season 2 will be about 'hard women' and will 'keep being strange'

"True Detective"Season 2 hasn't been greenlit yet, but based on the fervor surrounding the Season 1 finale, chances are the announcement of a second season won't be long in coming. Creator/writer Nic Pizzolatto already has some pretty clear ideas of the direction he wants Season 2 to take, and it sounds like he's going to remedy the whole lack-of-strong-female-characters issue from Season 1 in it.In an interview with HitFix, Pizzolatto offers a brief tease of what he has in store for Season 2. "This is really early, but I'll tell you [it's about] hard women, bad men and the secret occult history of the United States transportation system," he says. As for what he learned from Season 1 that he will apply to "True Detective's" next season, Pizzolatto says, "It's that I realize I need to keep being strange. Don't play the next one straight." Those out there who wanted Season 1 to be more... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/03/true-detective-season-2-will-be-about-hard-women-and-will-keep-being-strange.html

The Creepiest Frames of the True Detective Finale

From the antlered dead body that opened up True Detective 's first episode on, the show has been a showcase for chilling visuals whose disquieting aftereffects linger long after Girls has started. The finale outdid itself, with a gallery show's worth of haunting images that kicked off with the sight of a shirtless Errol grinning while standing over something that could not be good. And every inch of his house provided a glimpse of something else nightmarish. Here were the most upsetting sights, and that's saying something.  Read More... //www.vulture.com/2014/03/true-detective-finale-creepiest-moments.html

True Detective Season 1: Who Is the Yellow King?

True Detective Season 1 has wrapped, and whether you found the conclusion satisfying or disappointing, we all at least have the answer to the question “Who killed Dora Lange?” (That would be Errol Childress, the Lawnmower man). However, some viewers might still be asking “So, wait — who is The Yellow King?” Well, as has been cited first by io9, “The Yellow King” refers to a short story anthology by Robert W. Chambers entitled The King in Yellow. There is a common thread throughout the... //feeds.wetpaint.com/~r/wetpaint/latest/excerpt/~3/M5g6xCWkqEM/2014-03-09-true-detective-yellow-king-who

'True Detective' Season 1 finale - 'Form and Void': In the court of the Yellow King

Cohle: "We didn't get 'em all."Hart: "And we ain't gonna get 'em all -- that ain't what kind of world it is. But we got ours."In an interview earlier this week, "True Detective" creator Nic Pizzolatto shot down any notion that there would be a big twist to the end of the mystery, and the finale stayed true to that. Not long after the show clued us into Errol the lawn-mower man being the killer of Dora Lange and who knows how many others, Hart and Cohle figured it out as well. It was only a matter then of how the final confrontation would play out, and whether all the powerful people they believed were also involved would go down. The answer to the last question? No. But that feels entirely appropriate to a show with as bleak an outlook on humanity as "True Detective" often had. You could even argue that Rust still being alive... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/03/true-detective-season-1-finale-form-and-void-in-the-court-of-the-yellow-king.html
