The Amazing Race and Undercover Boss Renewed by CBS

CBS has officially picked up new seasons of The Amazing Race and Undercover Boss , as reported by Deadline . Neither show was in danger of being canceled, as Race is up slightly from this time last year and Boss is doing some very respectable business at 9:00. The 19th installment of The Amazing Race will make its debut in fall, likely in the same Sunday at 8:00 timeslot it has enjoyed for quite some time, while it will be the 3rd season for former Super Bowl leadout Undercover Boss . CBS has found a strong family friendly bit of reality synergy on Sunday nights, so I'd be a little surprised to see the two shows split up on the new schedule, despite how formidable they are on their own. MGM Grand COO Makes Huge Mistake Working Tables on 'Undercover Boss' (VIDEO)

Scot Sibella, COO of the MGM Grand, learned first-hand how difficult some of the jobs are in his casino on 'Undercover Boss' (Sun., 9PM on CBS). Working the roulette table, he saw how difficult it can be to take money away from people, and especially when you're screwing up the spin. The patrons even started giving him a hard time about it, rolling their eyes. One guy even told him he needed to spin the wheel faster. Unfortunately for them, a bad spin still nets a result, and so their losses are still real. Then, frustrated at how he was performing, and the emotional pressure of the people facing him, Sibella committed the ultimate casino no-no. He put his hand in his pocket. //www.tvsquad.com/2011/03/21/mgm-grand-scott-sibell-makes-huge-mistake-undercover-boss-video/

'Undercover Boss' Needs to Be Clear on Who the Boss Really Is

'Undercover Boss' is one of those reality shows that tries very, very hard not to let its seams show. In the two seasons it's been on CBS, it has taken pains to make sure that the CEO, mayor, executive or owner that dons the wig and glasses and goes undercover doing front-line jobs at his or her company isn't found out, despite the show's popularity. There's elaborate costumes, and a whole other film crew that shoots footage that never gets aired, just to throw people off the trail. But one of the things they've been inconsistent with is identifying if the boss that's going undercover is actually someone who can actually perform boss-like tasks such as hiring, firing, and promoting people.
