Web Therapy: Season 2 Guest Stars Include David Schwimmer, Meryl Streep and More

Lisa Kudrow is returning to star in the Showtime comedy series, Web Therapy , which has its second season premiere at the beginning of July. The cable channel has just announced 12 celebrity guest stars for the series, some new, some returning.  They include: -MERYL STREEP plays "Camilla Bowner," a consultant brought in by Kip's political handlers to re-orient Kip's wandering sexuality. -DAVID SCHWIMMER plays "Newell Miller," the son of Fiona's college professor with whom she had a "romantic" encounter. Unbeknownst to Fiona and his father, Newell witnessed the traumatic event and Fiona has haunted him ever since. He is contacting her now on the advice of his new therapist to find closure, but Fiona has other ideas. -ALAN CUMMING returns as Scottish billionaire media magnate "Austen Clarke," a new patient of Fiona's who quickly falls under her spell -- much to Fiona's romantic and professional benefit. ROSIE O'DONNELL plays "Maxine DeMaine," Austen's second-in-command, who is forced to edit Fiona's un-publishable book, most of which grossly offends her spiritual principles. -CONAN O'BRIEN appears as himself, and contacts Fiona for help with a serious problem: he can't seem to express his anger at his sidekick, who often appears funnier than his boss. -MINNIE DRIVER plays "Allegra Favreau," a B-movie actress and newly-sober reality star who options Fiona's memoir for a TV-movie starring herself. -MOLLY SHANNON is "Kirsten Noble," a journalist and blogger whose postings on Fiona cause political problems for her husband -- but an uptick in business for Fiona. -DAN BUCATINSKY continues as "Jerome Sokoloff," Fiona's assistant and ghost-writer, who clashes with Fiona when he shows unsettling signs of independence. -SELMA BLAIR plays "Tammy Hines," a surrogate hired by Jerome and his wife and carrying their triplets, who arouses Fiona's suspicions when she asks for more money. -JENNIFER ELISE COX plays "Gina Spinks," a former co-worker of Fiona's at the now-bankrupt financial firm which is under investigation by the SEC. She worships Fiona, whom she considers a mentor, but it doesn't stop her from spreading tales about Fiona during her fruitless job interviews. -VICTOR GARBER continues as "Kip Wallice," Fiona's husband, a Philadelphia lawyer whose political ambitions -- and unconventional sexual life -- challenge Fiona's marriage and career. -LILY TOMLIN continues as Fiona's unpredictable Bostonian mother "Putsy Hodge," whose residence in a psychiatric rehab facility has unintended consequences. Season 2 of Web Therapy will premiere on Monday, July 2nd at 11 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime. //feedproxy.google.com/~r/tvovermind/tvnews/~3/xTIEG0sfMSI/

Web Therapy Season Finale Clips: Strange Bedfellows

Fiona Wallice (Lisa Kudrow) has spent an entire season manipulating every person that comes into her orbit. If she's not wringing them out like an old dish towel, desperately trying to get something out of her interaction with them, she's completely dismissing their existence and already thinking about the next thing she can do to help herself and her new modality. She's all but chased away her husband and her only friends, leaving herself with only a Mac computer and video camera. In the season finale of Web Therapy , Fiona's past of treating people poorly may bring about some karmic justice, at least if the video below is any indication. In the first clip, "E-Paper Trail", the inevitable showdown between Fiona and Kip (Victor Garber) gets hinted at, but it doesn't go quite like you might think. Instead of owning up to things and having one last blowout with an obviously checked out Fiona, Kip maintains that the charges on his account were for a guy at work's bachelor party and that he never cheated on Fiona at all. The trip to Atlanta? Conspiracy to set him up, according to Mr. Wallice. By Fiona's reaction, you can tell she almost wants to believe him and to keep living the life she was before the whole thing got brought up, but I don't know if she can put something like this behind her, however much denial she can muster. Fiona Dodges the SEC on 'Web Therapy' (VIDEO)

Holding therapy sessions via Webcam has its own unique set of problems. You never know who could walk into your client's den or office and disrupt client-patient confidentiality. Fiona Wallace was in the midst of a session with her client, Robert Lachman, when they were rudely interrupted on 'Web Therapy' (Tuesdays, 11PM on Showtime). The conversation was starting to get a bit intimate. "You can be my spokesperson without violating my trust," said Lachman. "I'm a very sick man." He didn't sound sick, in a medical sense. "I promise I won't violate you in any way that you don't want to be violated," Wallace replied. //www.aoltv.com/2011/09/14/fiona-dodges-the-sec-on-web-therapy-video/

Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow Fight on 'Web Therapy' (VIDEO)

It was a 'Friends' reunion of sorts on last night's 'Web Therapy' (Tues., 11PM ET on SHO) as Courteney Cox stopped by. She played Serena Duvall, an Internet psychic who wanted Fiona's ( Lisa Kudrow ) help regaining her abilities. To this end, she invited Fiona onto an episode of 'Tyra,' and that's where it all started to go horribly, horribly wrong. Fiona was angry because thought she'd been invited onto the show as a member of the panel of web professionals, only to find that she was seated in the audience as a "plant" to show off what she referred to as Serena's "fake powers." An irate Serena asked her, "Did you really think that you would be up there with the other professionals? The sex worker, the webfomercial spokesperson? Really? Those are professional jobs. What do you do? Give advice? I see the future!" //www.aoltv.com/2011/09/07/courteney-cox-and-lisa-kudrow-fight-on-web-therapy-video/

Web Therapy Preview: Two Clips from Tonight's Episode

Dr. Fiona Wallice isn't having a great string of luck these days. Her husband, Kip, has been spending a pretty penny at adult stores and cheating on her with a string of transsexuals. Her mother, Putsy, was finally convinced to give Fiona some money to get Web Therapy, her pet project (and new therapeutic modality), off the ground, only to be derailed by the so-called lost Hodge (a Vietnamese man claiming to be the child Putsy put up for adoption). With the departure of her tech guy Kamal, Fiona's now alone, not financially capable of taking Web Therapy to the next level, and still dealing with the most unusual of clients. On tonight's episode of Web Therapy , titled Psychic Analysis, Fiona continues to deal with the unraveling of her mother, as the elder Hodge went from geisha girl chic last episode to what looks like the Pirates of Penzance meets 2011 for Halloween night at a local bar she likes. The absolute horror on Fiona's face when Putsy suggests that she move in with the Wallaces is the type of comedy that Web Therapy does so well; can you imagine having the one person that gets to Fiona living in the same house with her? Perfection. Read More... //feedproxy.google.com/~r/tvovermind/tvnews/~3/HfckPu20Eks/90293

Courteney Cox Makes Her "Web Therapy" Debut Tuesday, September 6th at 11:00 PM ET/PT

"Fiona Wallice" (Lisa Kudrow), television's worst online therapist, will add a new client to her roster as Courteney Cox ("Cougar Town") guest stars on the SHOWTIME comedy series WEB THERAPY on Tuesday, September 6th at 11:00 PM ET/PT. Cox plays "Serena Duvall," an internet psychic who turns to therapy to regain her powers. Not a fan of psychics, Fiona is skeptical as Serena explains that her dreams are a critical tool in conjuring up accurate visions about her clients but lately, they seem to be meaningless. Will Fiona succeed in getting Serena's "gift" back or will the two former "Friends" end up frenemies? Fiona Gets Kamal Deported to Avoid Paying Him on 'Web Therapy' (VIDEO)

Fiona is easily one of the most despicable people on television, and yet she's the star of 'Web Therapy' (Tue., 11PM ET on Showtime). Of course, after meeting her mother it's not hard to see why she's so self-absorbed and horrible, but her behavior on the show has been absolutely abhorrent. Just this week she got one of her clients fired from his job after she coerced him into looking up her husband's credit card transactions. She then took it a step further and had Kamal, the guy who helped set up her computer systems, deported back to India by his parents so she wouldn't have to pay him. //www.aoltv.com/2011/08/31/fiona-gets-kamal-deported-to-not-pay-him-web-therapy-video/

'Web Therapy' EP and Star Dan Bucatinsky on How They Keep Viewers Rooting for Fiona

There’s no doubt that Showtime kept to its formula for its series when it added  Lisa Kudrow’s  new show,  Web Therapy , to its slate. It carries their "antiheroes" calling card that’s also represented in their other shows, such as  Dexter  and  Weeds. "I don’t know whether we did that deliberately or not,"  Dan Bucatinsky , who plays Jerome and co-created the series, tells  The Hollywood Reporter . "I feel like clearly we knew she was sort of a despicable, untrained, uncredentialed, ruthless, self involved and very self-serving individual who is very opinionated."
