Weeds Sneak Peek: Jill Gets Jealous of Nancy

Thus far this season on Weeds , Andy and Nancy have been keeping their distance from one another. Whether it's been brought about due to the shooting, Andy's relationship with Jill, or some combination of the two, the former in-laws have barely shared a screen during the first three episodes of the season. And, of course, when they're about to have a family dinner in the next episode of Weeds, titled "Only Judy Can Judge", there has to be a meltdown. But it's not Nancy or Andy that's having the problem - they have the type of connection that can outlast any separation or awkwardness. Rather, it's Jill that's letting her jealousy of Nancy get to her, as she thinks that the family dinner is some type of romantic gesture that could potentially derail what she has with Andy. Nevermind the fact that her husband only recently decided to go back to India or that he got into a grown man slap fight with her new boyfriend. Weeds Sneak Peeks: Shane Goes After the Shooter

Of all the main characters on Weeds , Shane has always had the highest opinion of his mother. Andy wallowed in his love for his former sister-in-law for season after season, a love that turned into some type of desperate need for acknowledgement; Silas has become more of a business associate than the eldest son, their frosty relationship in season seven only beginning to thaw; Doug just...doesn't really care, minus the chance to cop a cheap feel, get a look at cleavage, and have access to a good strain. But Shane has stood by Nancy, whether it be from guilt of her taking the fall for Pilar's murder or a natural bond between a mother and her middle son, when nobody else would. Which is why it's no surprise that, after finding out that Tim shot his mother, he took off after him in hopes of settling the score. Next week's episode of Weeds , titled "See Blue and Smell Cheese and Die", lifts the veil of secrecy around the shooting, as Nancy and Silas find Tim online. Nancy had a moment in the last episode that showed she was aware of Tim being in the room with her without knowing who was there, so it should be interesting to see her put things together and come to terms with someone from her past coming for her life. 'Weeds' Nancy Botwin: 'She never does the expected'

"Weeds" costume designer Linda Bass is very sad that Season 8 will be the series' last."It's my all-time favorite show," she tells Zap2it. "It is like dessert after a meal. I started in the fourth season, and what struck me about the first three is the thing I loved about Nancy (played by Mary-Louise Parker) is she is so brave in her clothes choices. She can be in the most precarious situation wearing a see-through blouse. She is very body confident, and it didn't matter where she found herself; it always came through."Bass has a unique approach to dressing Nancy."I read the script and think logically what Nancy would wear," she says, "and then I always have to turn it around 360. She never does the expected; she does the unexpected, and she puts the Nancy twist on everything. It gets her in trouble a lot of the time, but it's why she ends up... //

Weeds: Who Shot Nancy Botwin?

Nancy Botwin's past finally caught up to her. The matriarch of one of the most dysfunctional families on TV kicked off the eighth and final season of Weeds on the ground, covered in blood, having been shot in the head. There's no way the Showtime series would kill off star Mary-Louise Parker — not yet, at least — but it raises the question: Who would want to kill Nancy? Well, I mean, who wouldn't really, right? Was it...  //

'Weeds' Premiere: Who Shot Nancy?

"Weeds" picked up its eighth and final season right where last season’s cliffhanger finale left off , in the moments after a shot rang out from the bushes during a family dinner at the Botwin's new compound in Connecticut. Warning: Spoilers for "Weeds" Season 8, Episode 1, entitled "Messy," below. Nancy survived getting shot in the head, but could still be facing brain damage after falling into a coma at the hospital. The identity of the shooter turned out to be a blast from the "Weeds" past: Tim Scottson , the son of DEA agent Peter Scottson, who Nancy briefly married all the way back in Season 2. If you’re asking, "Wait, who?!" then you’re not alone. Little Tim Scottson was a bit player in the Botwin’s story, and it seemed more likely that the shooter would’ve been any number of gangsters and drug dealers who Nancy's wronged along the way. But "Weeds" creator Jenji Kohan clearly has a less-obvious end-game up her sleeve. So why did Tim Scottson do it? He probably blames Nancy for his father’s death at the hands of the Armenian mobsters , who murdered him while he was trying to extort Nancy's weed profits after their relationship went bad. Either that, or he's still holding a grudge against Shane for biting him on the foot at a karate match. What did you think of the "Weeds" premiere? Let us know in the comments. "Weeds" airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on Showtime. //

'Weeds' Season 8 premiere: Nancy Botwin shot by ...

"Weeds" came back with a bang Sunday, July 1, when the show picked up right where Season 7 left off - with Nancy toasting her unorthodox family at their new suburban compound in Connecticut, just as a shot rings out. So who was shot?Nancy was. Hopefully no one was terribly surprised by that turn of events. Who else would it have been? What we found quite surprising was the culprit, revealed at the end of the episode. While we hadn't forgotten about Peter Scottson (Martin Donovan), the DEA agent Nancy married way back in Season 2, we hadn't given much thought to his anger-management-problem son Tim (Daryl Sabara), whom Shane bit at a karate match (remember that?). Was anybody pleasantly surprised to be surprised at the shooter's identity? And perhaps glad it wasn't someone connected to Esteban or Guillermo? We were kind of hoping it was Heylia, just because that would've been funny. In other... //
