Weeds' Series Finale: The Botwins Come Full Circle

When we finally said goodbye to Showtime’s comedy stalwart, Weeds , an indeterminate amount of time had passed since Nancy’s sojourn to Regrestic. Enough years had gone by that Stevie Ray Botwin—now Stevie Ray Bloom—had entered middle school, Nancy had been married and widowed yet again, having hooked up with that hot rabbi after all, Silas and Megan had tied the knot and popped out the aptly named baby Flora, and marijuana had...   //

Weeds Series Finale Review: Anything But a High Note

Well, that was pretty much everything I hate about television. By skipping ahead many years, the Weeds finale abandoned any sense of continuity and completely slapped viewers in the face with " It's Time ." Such a ridiculous maneuver made all Season 8 episodes leading up to it completely irrelevant - which, granted, isn't saying much, considering the mess of a final season and its lack of flow in the first place - and made it incredibly easy for the show to just tie everything up however it wanted. 20 Memorable Moments from 8 Seasons of Weeds

It’s been a long, strange trip and on Sunday, the Botwin family saga will draw to a close when Weeds airs its final episode. From the well-manicured lawns of Agrestic to Bubbie’s funky house in Ren Mar and the stately streets of snooty Old Sandwich, Nancy and her brood have amused, horrified, and occasionally grossed us out. And so, as we head into the homestretch, we here at thought it would be a good time to visit some of Weeds ' most memorable moments. Here are the 20 that stand out in our minds most. SEASON 1 Pre- Glee Jane Lynch as "The Candyman" Season 1, Episode 4: "Fashion of the Christ" We...   //

Weeds Review: Return to Regrestic

The Botwins returned to Agrestic on the 100th episode of Weeds ... errrr, Regrestic.... errr, the Land of a Million Easy Plot Devices. While I was prepared to watch " God Willing and the Creek Don't Rise " with an open mind, considering my frustration at the meandering, tension-free Season 8 so far, I found myself disappointed once again by the show I once adored. If anything, this trip back home simply reminded me of how fresh and witty Weeds once seemed. And how random and direction-less it has become. Read More... //

Weeds "God Willing and the Creek Don't Rise" Review: Welcome to Regrestic

No, that’s not a typo. Weeds ’ 100th episode sent Nancy back to California in search of MILF after Silas’s attempt to liberate his plants from the Smith-Johnson lab failed, throwing a wrench in the cogs of her soon-to-be-revived weed empire. Except this time, she wants to keep things legal. Or mostly legal. Or something. Most of the residents of Agrestic settled...   //

Weeds "Threshold" Review: The Newlywed Game

Surprise, surprise—as soon as he carried her across the threshold, it became glaringly obvious that Andy had made a terrible mistake in marrying his barely-out-of-high-school waitress, Joanna. At least he owned up to it, citing "fresh blueberries and young eggs" as his primary motivations for tying the knot. I’m a little confused about Joanna’s motivation, though, considering she was refreshingly insightful about the whole not wanting kids thing. Andy’s face fell...   //

Weeds Review: Growing Up

The utterly random final season of Weeds continues with " Saplings ." Silas was presented with a job offer out of nowhere (does tobacco have Major League Baseball-like scouts perusing the medical field?), Andy met a woman and got married in the same night and Doug... well, what is there to say about Doug at this point? He's not actually a character on Weeds . It's in his own world every Sunday night. Read More... //

Weeds "Saplings" Review: Mother Knows Best?

When a good ol’ boy from a Big Tobacco family came knocking on the Botwin family’s door, Nancy was surprised and a little concerned that he was looking for Silas and not her. Maybe some of RJ’s live-and-love philosophy rubbed off Silas, because watching his precious plant be beaten to a pulp and squeezed into a little pill last week was a little too much for his delicate sensibilities to take. It’s not what the drug is about, man. Weed is a beautiful thing, man. Get it,...   //
