Whitney decides that the best punishment for her boyfriend  is the silent treatment. However, she soon realizes that Alex is enjoying his sentence and she begins to plot a new misery making tactic. 'Up All Night,' 'Whitney' get full seasons on NBC

NBC has picked up full seasons of its freshman comedies "Up All Night" and "Whitney."The two shows have performed reasonably well in competitive timeslots thus far this fall. "Up All Night" debuted to more than 10 million viewers behind the finale of "America's Got Talent" on Sept. 14, then has averaged about 5.7 million viewers and a 2.3 rating in among adults 18-49 in its regular 8 o'clock Wednesday home. Those aren't great numbers, but they're significantly better than what the network aired in the timeslot last season."Whitney," meanwhile, has averaged 6.1 million viewers and a 2.9 rating in the demo. Through its first two episodes it has retained about 78 percent of the 18-49 rating from its lead-in, "The Office," and 85 percent of total viewers."We made comedy an important goal for us this season, and I'm very pleased to be making full-season commitments to both 'Whitney' and 'Up All Night.'" The title character on 'Whitney' is known for her outspoken views; she's not exactly a shrinking violet and doesn't shy away from letting her opinions be known. Stand-Up Comedian Lisa Lampanelli to Appear on 'Whitney'

After  snagging a  Veronica Mars  and  Party Down  alum  for an episode, one of NBC's rookie sitcoms,  Whitney , is adding a stand-up comedian. Lisa Lampanelli , a frequent contributor on  The Howard Stern Show , will guest star in an upcoming episode, playing a dog pound manager who evaluates Whitney ( Whitney Cummings ) and Alex ( Chris D'Elia ) a a couple to see if they are fit to adopt a dog,  The Hollywood Reporter confirms. WHITNEY  "First Date" Episode 2 airs Thursday, September 29 at 9:30 p.m. Synopsis:  When Whitney (Whitney Cummings) realizes that she and Alex (Chris D’Elia) have never gone on an official first date, she comes up with an unusual idea to recreate the past. Taking this very seriously — as only Whitney can — she insists that they follow all of the "rules" of a first date, thus the two awkwardly go to dinner and cap off the night by sleeping in separate apartments. This gives Alex and Mark (Dan O’Brien) a rare opportunity for some much needed guy time. Meanwhile, totally embodying a post first date attitude, Whitney and Roxanne (Rhea Seehorn) spend some quality girl time plotting Whitney’s next move with the "new guy," but when Lily (Zoe Lister-Jones) finds out what’s going on she recruits Neal (Maulik Pancholy) to help her stage a "chance" encounter between the two lovebirds. 'Up All Night,' 'Whitney' stream new episodes early on Yahoo

You'll be able to watch new episodes of two of NBC's new comedies a little bit early this week.The network has struck a deal with Yahoo to stream this week's episodes of "Up All Night" and "Whitney" starting Tuesday morning (Sept. 27). "Up All Night" airs at 8 p.m. ET Wednesday and "Whitney" at 9:30 p.m. Thursday.The "Up All Night" episode features guest star Will Forte as a fellow stay-at-home dad whom Chris (Will Arnett) befriends and who has some unconventional advice for him. It also features Jorma Taccone ("Saturday Night Live") as an ex-boyfriend of Ava's (Maya Rudolph) who tells her he's getting married, which sends her into a tailspin.Episode 2 of "Whitney" finds the title character (Whitney Cummings) fretting over the fact that she and Alex (Chris D'Elia) never had an official first date.
