The guiltiest of pleasures. It's mindless, it's stupid, it's funny, it's heartwarming. I am not a "reality tv" fan by any stretch of the imagination but I love this and never miss an episode. I really don't know what it is about the Kardashians but I can't stop watching and I don't want to either.

The pilot is probably my favourite ever pilot of any show. The first season is truly masterful, it very rarely misses over the course of 27 episodes. The second season was different though very much enjoyable, some truly fantastic episodes. The third season marked a big change in the show, it became much darker thematically, lost a lot of its charm and the introduction of annoying and pointless characters made for a very hit and miss season. Season 4 was in some ways a return to form, a lot of the charm that the show had lost returned but a main character missing and in many ways it just felt too different for me.

It's worth a watch just for the first two seasons. The soundtrack is probably the best of any TV show ever, including "live performances" by some pretty cool bands. The cast is pretty great too and the writing in the first two seasons is very good.

I wish I could review each season separately. They should be viewed separately as it is an anthology series. But here I can't. The first season is possibly the best season of a show I have ever seen, I don't think it could have been any more perfect. I have watched it a couple of times already and I know that it is something I will continue to go back to again and again. The writing, the acting, the direction, the cinematography, the music supervision, the set design, the props. I could go on and on, it really was masterful and I simply cannot fault it.

I think that is why the second season was such a disappointment. It was an interesting story in its own right, but truthfully it probably needed a bit more work. There was some very nice acting, especially from Rachel McAdams but the elements simply did not come together in the way that they did for the first season. I would to see them come back with something much better next year, over all it was a little underwhelming.

The Fall

The Fall hasn't received nearly enough attention awards-wise if you ask me. It is about as dark as it gets and completely and utterly addictive. Jamie Dornan is bloody brilliant in the role of a serial killer but the real standout is Gillian Anderson, the fact that she hasn't been nominated for Emmys and Golden Globes is a real shame, because her performance is right up there Bryan Cranston in BB and Jon Hamm in MM, she really is that good. The writing is completely on point and the tension builds at the perfect pace. Best thing to come out of the UK in a long, long time.

This one really took me by surprise. I really liked it a lot, I expected to like it as a Veronica Mars fan but it ended up being one of my favourite shows last year. It has some really funny and sweet moments, the characters are likeable and well developed. And the 12 episode arc was concise enough that the quality didn't falter.

I recently binged my way through this. The premise is very interesting and the first season, for the most part, has more hits than misses. The second season is quite a different story though and quite frankly it's a mess, the notes they do hit are too few and far between. h. Some of the storylines are very out there, a lot of the secrets and big reveals could have been done without, they should have gone more Friday Night Lights as opposed to PLL. Yet I find myself still wanting to watch. Even though the writing is not up to par some of the characters are very likeable and the acting is actually quite good. In fact, I would go so far as to say that Kathryn Prescott is one of the most likeable actresses on television and is quite wasted on the material that she is being given. I'll keep watching for now, but if the writing does not improve then it is doubtful that it will be on for too much longer.

Sons of Anarchy

Sons of Anarchy is well worth a watch if you like good TV, don't mind some ultra violence and just like to be entertained. This show has given me many hours of entertainment and I am glad I decided to pick it up. It has many excellent characters, the main of which, Jax Teller, played by Charlie Hunnam, is one of the weaker, but it is rounded out by a great cast, really superb.

Later seasons of the show did get weaker and by the time the final season was announced I was glad. had it not been the final season then I probably would have seriously considered dropping it as like I said I felt it was getting a little long in the tooth. The final episode of the penultimate season set up for a great final season. The final episode, always controversial no matter the show, was one of the better final episodes I have seen, I felt it ended right.

Overall it is well worth a watch, it did go on maybe a season or two too long but I think that can probably be forgiven.

Sidenote, if you are Irish then you have to watch this for its comical depiction of "the Irish", the IRA who the Sons do business with. The even spend an entire season in "Belfast", complete with a trad version of the theme song and everything. Seriously it is only second to Heroes in its bad Irish accents and comical depiction of the Irish in general. G

I watched this show the first weekend it came out and was pleasantly surprised by it. It is charming, witty and incredibly likeable. There are some really great characters, Jon Hamm's was my favourite, he was perfect and incredibly funny in his role, though I doubt he will be back sadly.

Kimmy Schmidt was kidnapped and kept in a bunker for years being convinced by a crazy Rev.(Jon Hamm) that the world had ended. She along with the other women being kept in the Bunker are rescued and Kimmy decides that she wants to live in New York. She gets a job working as a nanny/housekeeper/assistant for a vapid woman(Jane Krakowski) and lives in a basement apartment with a once aspiring broadway star who dreams have been crushed.

Over all I think this is a really charming little show and I will happily watch the next season when it comes around. I think that this is a show that could get better as time goes on and it's already pretty good as is!

This is literally one of my favourite shows, of any genre, currently airing on TV. I am not from the US, though I had seen The Daily Show from time to time, so I knew who John Oliver was. I had also heard that the time John Oliver spent hosting TDS when Jon Stewart was away shooting his movie was the best the show had been in years.

When I heard about LWT I was instantly on board. HBO, John Oliver, current affairs show. I was excited to check it out. It was better than I could have ever imagined. Oliver brings an energy to the show that is just fantastic, the stories are well researched, interesting and wide ranging, and they are delivered in such a funny and irreverent that it is impossible not to enjoy even if you aren't interested in current affairs.

One of my favourite things that John Oliver brings to the table is his interest in the world. One of the reasons I never really watched TDS or Colbert Report was because the reporting was so American-centric, nothing wrong with that, they are American shows, but when you are not from there you miss come of the in jokes and just aren't really invested in the stories. LWT does stories from all over the world, I know no one apart from myslef who had ever even seen TDS, I know a number of people who watch LWT, the show can and I believe will go global in the next few years. John Oliver is already an internet sensation thanks to HBO's clever marketing, putting entire segments of the show on Youtube almost immediately after they air.

As of now the show is going from strength to strength and long may it continue. Hopefully it won't be long until we are getting a hour long show each week.
