I read these books back in the 1980's, and I NEVER would have thought that there would one day be a TV series based on them. While the show for the most part seemed to be (to my now much older self's recollection) faithful to the source, I find that I am a bit too old for the angsty teen romance. I am not complaining about that, just I think it detracts from MY experience with the show. Otherwise, pretty darn impressed.
