Downton Abbey

Simply beautiful to watch. This show is really well written with great characters on both sides of the upstairs/downstairs divide. Some story lines can be a little dull (did anyone really care about who won the village flower show?) but on the whole a very entertaining series.

Sex and the City

Personally I enjoyed all aspects of Sex and the City, except Carrie. She comes across as self absorbed and ignores her friends problems to talk about her own petty dramas. Other than this Sex and the City is fairly enjoyable to watch at the weekend when there's nothing else on.

Not worth watching. It's clearly trying to be a provocative and talked about show but in reality all of the characters are horrible people and it is impossible to find one who is in any way relatable

Scrubs

In it's early days Scrubs was one of the best sitcoms on TV. It was very adept at doing a kind of almost surreal humour which I think can be quite rare on American broadcast TV. Sadly it went on a bit too long and I found the latter seasons a bit stale, whilst Season 9 was just completely unnecessary.

One of the best show's ever to be on Showtime. Michael C Hall manages to make you care so much for someone who does unspeakable things! Shame about the last 30 mins of the final which kind of ruined the show.

So far I have gone from thinking that this is a fairly decent sci-fi-esque thriller to thinking it was a bit dull and boring to once again finding it fairly decent. It's good but not great but Santiago Cabrera is pretty so there is at least a distraction during the not great parts.

I'd never seen the TV movies so I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised for the most part of Season 1. It's fun and it doesn't take itself to seriously, if it did it would be a bit ridiculous. Not every episode was a winner but overall a decent first season.

Outlander

Having never read the books I went into Outlander somewhat reluctantly but I have (so far) been very impressed. It can at times be a little violent but I feel that this is justified given the time-setting of the story.

One of the best new shows of 2014. Really well written, at times harrowing yet hilarious, Fargo embodies the spirit of the film without feeling like a cheap knock off.

This show is so completely mind bending that I often end up with a headache trying to figure out what the hell is going on but somehow I really don't mind this at all as it is really well executed by the writers and cast who make you really care about the characters.
