Just a tad too bizarre for my taste.
I usually love anything with Emma Stone in it but I just couldn't get into this at all.
I wish they would make more of this it was such a good show!
The first season was great but it ran far too long and I feel like it would have been much more suited to a 12 or 13 episode season.
I've heard people say it's not as good as the comics it's based on but having never read them I can only judge it as a standalone series and for the most part, it's great. A few things across the 3 seasons haven't quite worked but the cast has great chemistry - Joesph Gilgun as Cassidy is particularly impressive.
Wee bit far-fetched in terms of the plot but gripping nonetheless. If you've ever visited Edinburgh you'll love spotting the filming locations.
I've still only watched the first few episodes but I found it a bit slow and I struggled to stay focused on it.
I must be among the minority who didn't really rate this very highly. Sarah Paulson was the stand out performance for me and the only character that I found relatable or sympathetic. I must admit I found David Schwimmer to be miscast here and very irritating. Plus having the young Kardashians featured for me made the whole thing seem a bit tacky.
The first season is so over the top in establishing itself as an 'adult' Doctor Who but it settles down and finds a good stride. Season 2 was excellent but I think it really peaks with the third season mini-series. Children of Earth was one of the most compelling and heartbreaking television I've ever seen.
I really enjoy this show but I think Klaus is a bit of a repetitive, overrated character. Joseph Morgan is very talented at what he does but there's only so much obsessive paranoia I can put up with! That aside, the story lines involving the other characters tend to be of a high quality and are very engaging.
