I'm still trying to figure out whether I like this show or not.
I have nothing against Seth Meyers, I think he is a great writer (I liked his work on SNL), but I'm not sure I can say the same about him being a talk show host. For me it seems that Seth isn't really comfortable with what he is doing on show. But shouldn't it be the main thing - to do whatever and own it? (If it isn't then it should be! Or not. I don't know how these things work.)
What I find most annoying about the show is that Seth repeats most of his stories for like 5 shows in a row. Like, don't you have anything else to talk about? But I hope this will change after the last visit of Brian Williams when he mentioned this to Seth during the interview. Of course, there are a few other things that I dislike about the show but I am not here to complain. I'm just saying what's on my mind.
At one point I was ready to quit watching this show. The only reason I didn't were the guests. Oh, and Fred Armisen, of course, who I think is the biggest star in this show, but that's just my opinion. (Isn't the audience more excited to see Fred than Seth?)
Besides monologue and guests there are also many different segments on the shoe. Some of time are funny, some of them are not and some of them are somewhere in the middle. But I don't want to get much deeper in this, because it seems like creators of the show are still trying to understand what the audience likes the best.
In the end, I have to admit that I haven't missed a single episode. I believe the show will get better with time. Because when you are at the very bottom you can only go up!
