Great opening episode, successfully transcribed into a series from the movie that came out in 2000 of the same name/concept. I have to say, I think I even like this episode better than the movie. Good cast and equally good acting. I will definitely be following this series in the months to come. Refreshing mixture of sci-fi, thriller and drama. Enjoy!

This series had the potential to be one of our greatest sci-fi series. It's a shame that it didn't get the follow through. Excellent by every standard of a tv sci-fi junkie.

Sparrow, is an excellent episode, if not one of the strongest episodes I've seen on TV for a very long time. I forgot I was watching TV. It addresses so many taboo subjects that often get swept under the rug, or portrayed in such a way that it becomes part of the grotesque, leaving us sitting like voyeurs on a couch. Suicide, incest, sexual abuse, mental illness, love vs discord; all addressed and yet very fluid and pertinent. Tonight, it was real. The pain, the confusion, the battles and the grief, hit home. It will be unlikely that this episode doesn't strike a very real chord somewhere in you. Reminding you of how real this world is.

I liked this show, once I got past the fact that it's not TWD. TWD doesn't need two of itself. So I think the way this show is building its characters, taking us through the first weeks of the epidemic is rather realistic, and though the style is different, it remains entertaining. I like knowing that somewhere on the continent at the same time, Rick is in a coma, and will wake up to become an apocalyptic hero. Once you know your zombie rules per TWD, then it all ties in together quite nicely. I am little disappointed that the season finale is only 6 shows in. Looking forward to more.

You know, It's been interesting to watch TV shows evolve into what they are now, even just over the past 20-30 years. I loved movies because the screenplays just gave us more in 2 hours than what we could get in one episode, or even a season of a TV series. They were faster-paced, had better CGI and they just kept getting better and better. Movies are where I fell in love with sci-fi/fantasy (E.T., Dune, Krull, Enemy Mine, Alien, Star Wars, Star Trek..). Then, V and X-files happened and that was a real game changer for me with the TV/Sci Fi marriage. I've fallen in love with many a Sci-fi tv show from The Red Dwarf to Fringe and beyond. I like to think that even though I would by no means call myself an aficionado of the genre, I am definitely a fan.

When the movie 12 Monkeys was released, I loved it. I watched it at any opportunity, over and over. I loved the way it made my imagination spin about the possibilities of time travel and survival of the fittest in a SHTF situation. When I heard about the new series, I was both excited and a little wary, because remakes have a way of falling flat, and I think that is because, art is art. What makes art, art, is the initial creative passion behind the production. To recreate already exceptional art, is to make a very high wager that you can match that initial spark and carry it further.

In this case, I don't think the producers were up to task. It definitely fell flat for me. The acting lacks authenticity and the story line is, well, I guess, it is what it is, based on a remake. No surprises. The most exciting moments of this pilot were that it is named the "12 Monkeys" and what I was secretly hoping it would be; Mysterious, suspenseful, uncomfortable, plausible and even confusing. Unfortunately it was completely predictable, and the only time I will watch it going further is if I have run out of other shows to watch. Then maybe I'll give it another go. Quite a disappointment. It get's one star for being ambitious, the other star because the CGI is decent.

This is a show where most either love or hate Abby. This said, her dancers are exceptional, and there is something to be said about the quality of her training and teaching. Her character eases up in the competition, and we see a side to her that is a little more realistic and less show. The choreographic routines themselves are not the most artistically developed, but they are very technical and excellent for the contestants to show what they have. The jury is balanced and the show face paced. Entertaining and always fun to see kids' fresh sense of respect for each other despite the drama of momagers and when the order of things is to win.

After the movie, it was great to continue the adventures. It was steady paced and the screenplays were interesting. It's a good series to watch at the time. But each set of the franchise following just got better and better.

Stargate Universe was the Stargate I was always waiting for. It had more grit, and touched on the taboo of God meets Science. I was really looking forward to more on this. I think it could have been as good as the BSG. The screenplay opportunities on this were endless. RIP SU.
