America's Next Top Model Preview: Tyra Went A-Huntin'

If you're a fan of America's Next Top Model, you accept the fact that there'll be at least a handful, if not more, completely bonkers photo shoots per cycle. They may have some kernel of modeling truth to them, but for the most part, they're exercises in reality excesses and serve as a way to test how the models handle extreme circumstances. There have been fun/unique photos that come from the messy themes and circus atmosphere, though for the most part, it can get pretty dire. On the next episode of Top Model, titled "The Girl Who Cries Home", the girls have a taxidermy-themed photo shoot that they have to conquer. Using only their neck, different angles, and a variety of facial expressions, they have to bring life to a concept shrouded in the dead and the inanimate; it'll be a shoot that tests a lot of baseline fashion knowledge, only gussied up to be pretty silly and Top Model-y. The guest photographer for the shoot, the first after the top 13 was decided last week, will be 90210's Shenae Grimes, who gets into the moment with creative consultant Johnny Wujek and even has a photo of her own taken. 'America's Next Top Model's' most offensive photo shoot yet

Jay Manuel should feel pretty good about himself right now. The pictures from the first Mr. Jay-less "America's Next Top Model" photo shoot have been released, and they are some of the most misogynistic, badly photoshopped work to grace the internet. This misguided attempt at artistry, shot by "90210" star Shenae Grimes, never would've happened with Manuel around. Even the weirdest "ANTM" shoots from the past weren't as downright offensive as this new one, which features the college student models posing like hunting trophies. Adding insult to injury, the ladies' names are 'shopped onto the bottom of their "plaques" as an afterthought -- honestly, it's a miracle they didn't use Comic Sans. PHOTOS: "America's Next Top Model: College Edition" In the past, fired mentor Manuel has used his skilled eye to guide the wannabe models as they tackled tough topics like eating disorders, body image and bees (hey, they're scary) in painfully obvious but... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/08/americas-next-top-models-most-offensive-photo-shoot-yet.html

ANTM Cycle 19, Episode 2: “The Girl Who Cries Home” Preview: Who’s the Growler? (VIDEO)

In the preview for America's Next Top Model Cycle 19: Episode 2: "The Girl Who Cries Home" (airing August 31), we see a dancing fraternity, the modelstants’ heads depicted as taxidermy, and the ladies enjoying themselves (a little too much?) while out on the town. 90210 star Shenae Grimes is the guest photographer, and she tries to get the girls to show just how fierce and flawsome they are from the neck up only. Watch the preview below, and see if you can guess which... //feeds.wetpaint.com/~r/wetpaint/latest/excerpt/~3/qRnLFU0Nxr8/antm-cycle-19-episode-2-the-girl-who-cries-home-preview-whos-the-growler-video

ANTM Cycle 19’s New Creative Director Johnny Wujek: BFF Katy Perry is “So Excited”

The new creative director on America's Next Top Model Cycle 19 is none other than Katy Perry’s stylist and best friend, Johnny Wujek. A former model himself, Johnny knows more than his fair share about producing a phenomenal photo shoot, not to mention how to style a girl for the flashbulbs. We caught up with the very tall and handsome Johnny at the ANTM Cycle 19 premiere party on August 22 at the Tribeca Grand in New York City, and he dished on how Katy feels about his new TV role,... //feeds.wetpaint.com/~r/wetpaint/latest/excerpt/~3/5Bv-SDNHkjM/antm-cycle-19s-new-creative-director-johnny-wujek-bff-katy-perry-is-so-excited

America's Next Top Model Preview: Shenae Grimes, Guest Photographer

When I think about America's Next Top Model, I think about a lot of things: Tyra's multitude of weaves that have been paraded around for 19 cycles, the endless string of model vocabulary that have become actual words and not just gibberish, the truly ridiculous photo shoots that have been both hilarious and cringeworthy in equal amounts. What I don't think of when I think of America's Next Top Model is taxidermy, but that's the direction we'll be heading in the next episode, airing Friday. "The Girl Who Cries Home" is going to be all about cognitive dissonance, with the challenge appearing to take place on a night club runway (that looks like a strip club and features the ladies in moderately provocative attire), the photo shoot forcing each girl to act like a fierce deer on a mighty hunter's mantle, and 90210 starlet Shenae Grimes taking a turn as photographer for the occasion. Top Model has mashed weird concepts together pretty often, leaning into its kooky reputation more and more the older it becomes, but this looks to be (potentially) one of the strangest juxtapositions yet. And that's saying something. Which of the girls will be able to overcome the environment and serve some serious face (on the wall)? And which will not know how to handle the insanity and stumble right as their Top Model dream is beginning? Read More... //feedproxy.google.com/~r/tvovermind/tvnews/~3/YFkAnQ3qQXo/

'America's Next Top Model' College Edition premiere: What did you think of the new season?

"America's Next Top Model" introduced some huge changes for the 19th cycle, the College Edition. What did you think? The Selection ShowTyra welcomes 30 semifinalists to a sorority-style house, looking like she just crawled up the beach after being marooned on an island. Seriously, what is going on with her hair? And she brings out the new judges. We miss Nigel, Jay and Miss J already. After the girls do a walk-off and a photoshoot, they have their interviews with the judges and the reading of the fans' messages is old after one person. That is just not interesting. The girls range from a home-schooled weird girl named Victoria who sounds like Sarah Palin and plays the race card in a very awkward way, to a "Kitty" who likes to meow and looks like Audra McDonald to Kristin, a girl who likes to brawl, is wearing clown-level rouge and thinks she can skate by on being pretty.... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/08/americas-next-top-model-college-edition-premiere.html
