'Archer' Season 2 DVD: Archer pays tribute to the troops

Soon you'll have more of everyone's favorite super spy, Sterling Archer, at your fingertips. Not in a gross way, sickos -- in the Season 2 DVD and Blu-ray of "Archer," which comes out Dec. 27.To prepare you for the awesomeness that awaits inside those discs, Zap2it has obtained a super-secret exclusive clip from one of the set's special features, "Semper Fi." Archer, proving that he's not really that bad of a dude, totally gives a shout out to the troops when it's requested. Obviously, he does it in his own Archer way, which includes plenty of inappropriate comments and indirect insults toward our hero soldier in question. The DVD and Blu-ray set also includes features like "Ask Archer," "Archersaurus," "Self Extinction," "L'espoin Mal Fait" and "ISIS Invades Comic-con." It also has all 13 episodes from Season 2, but we thought that was kind of self-explanatory. Check out the clip above!... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/12/archer-season-2-dvd-archer-pays-tribute-to-the-troops.html

Archer Cast at Comic-Con: A Press Room Photo Diary

At Comic-Con yesterday, I had the honor of sitting down with Archer 's creator, Adam Reed, and his cast of amazing voice actors. Up first, as seen below? Chris Parnell, who cracked me up with his story about wanting to dress as Khal Drogo from Game of Thrones for the event. The voice of Cyril Figgis and perhaps the most hilarious character on 30 Rock , Dr. Spaceman, Parnell was one of the nicest, most laid back guys on the planet. He didn't have a lot to reveal about his character's role in season three, but he shared some fun facts about himself, such as his interest in remote control helicopters. Emmys 2011: Why 'The Simpsons' and other animated shows aren't on the comedy series ballot

The other day, when we put the comedies on the Emmy ballot in order from least to most funny, there were a bunch of comments and tweets that wondered why we didn't include very funny shows like "The Simpsons," "Archer," "South Park" and others. There's a good reason for that: None of them are on the ballot for outstanding comedy series. In fact, except for "Family Guy," not one animated series submitted in that category. Instead, they're all in the outstanding animated series category. Why? Well, there's a good reason for that, something we touched on in our post from a few weeks ago about shows that never got the right kind of Emmy love, and it's a pretty simple one: Animated shows rarely get nominated -- and they never, ever win -- when up against live-action shows.Until 2009, when "Family Guy" broke through and got an outstanding comedy series nomination, almost 50 years had passed since... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/06/emmys-2011-why-the-simpsons-and-other-animated-shows-arent-on-the-comedy-series-ballot.html

Archer Preview: "White Nights"

So where do you go after sending Archer to the Monaco Grand Prix?  To the ultimate spy destination, of course: Russia! Returning to the season one story arc of Archer trying to find his father, Sterling heads behind the Iron Curtain for some "White Nights."  When he gets trapped, it's none other than his infamous ODIN nemesis, Barry Dylan, that's sent in to rescue him. Watch a promo now for the episode, and prepare to get excited for some more Archer ! //www.tvfanatic.com/2011/04/archer-preview-white-nights/

Archer Preview: "Jeu Monegasque"

After a failed kidnapping of Cheryl and a successful one of poor Pam last week, the ISIS gang sure could use a vacation!  So it's a good thing Malory has them booked for one to Monaco! As Archer and company head to Monaco, home of the famed Monte Carlo Casino, you can expect gambling to take front and center.  And come on, the show is, at its heart, a Bond parody!  So watch the preview below and get excited for "Jeu Monegasque." //www.tvfanatic.com/2011/04/archer-preview-jeu-monegasque/

Archer Preview: "El Secuestro"

After two weeks of cancer-themed episodes, Archer returns to its usual antics starting with next week's " El Secuestro ."  In the upcoming episode, Pam gets mistakenly kidnapped and the ISIS offices go on lockdown to protect the real target. We won't spoil anymore for you and leave you with the following promo from the episode: //www.tvfanatic.com/2011/03/archer-preview-el-secuestro/

Archer Preview: "Placebo Effect"

As I've already stated in my review of this week's Archer episode, part two of the cancer series of episodes is definitely the most creative, darkest episode in the series' history. Why? Well, when Archer finds out the chemotherapy medicine he was taking was no more than a "Placebo Effect," he seeks revenge against the men behind the swap of his medicine. Ready to see just how crazy and dark things get when Archer rampages?  Watch the promo below to get a small taste and then come back Thursday night at 10:30 EST to discuss.  Because we can't wait to have someone to talk to about it! //www.tvfanatic.com/2011/03/archer-preview-placebo-effect/

Archer Promo: "Stage Two"

Things are about to get even darker on FX's dark comedy, Archer , for the next two weeks.  Why?  Because the show begins to explore the topic of breast cancer starting with "Stage Two." As you can see from the following promo, when Malory thinks she has breast cancer, Sterling goes in for his own screening.  The results are very depressing... but hilarious!  Watch below. //www.tvfanatic.com/2011/03/archer-promo-stage-two/
