Awesome Anime You May Have Missed, Part 2: Summer Must-Sees

It's almost summertime for us folks in the Northern Hemisphere and you know what that means: plenty of time to watch anime! Maybe it's too hot to go outside. Maybe you and your friends need something new to watch on Netflix. Or maybe you're just an anime nerd like me with nothing better to do. Well, whatever your reason, it's anime season! Here's my list of sensational summer selections that are absolute must-sees.   When your summer needs funny cuteness, watch Polar Bear's Cafe What makes this show a must-see is how absolutely adorable it is. I mean, the whole show is just a cute little polar bear from the zoo working at a cafe. Just doing his thing. He pours little cups of coffee and gets into misadventures with other animals as he lives his super lazy life. It's sooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute that I could have added more o's and still not been exaggerating.   When your summer needs intrigue, mystery, and an air of elegance, watch Black Butler The visuals, storyline, and characters are so engaging that three seasons and one Alice in Wonderland -themed special later, this anime has more fans than ever. Me totally included. Watching Ciel and his demon butler tackle mysteries in an 1800s-esque era is enthralling. Every season the mysteries get darker, the stories grow more complex, and the anime gets even better.   When your summer needs amazing scenery and shirtless dudes, watch Free! Free! is the perfect summer-themed anime. The first episode has amazing underwater scenes, most of the show takes place at the beach or the pool, and it's a very light-hearted show. Bonus: If you're into fan service, you'll definitely love Free! The all-male cast of main characters are shirtless 99 percent of the time.   When your summer needs fantasy and fun, watch The Seven Deadly Sins This Netflix-exclusive anime is the bomb. Awesome fight scenes, great characters/villains, tons of jokes, and a ridiculously adorbs mascot. It's a much lighter version of shows like Fullmetal Alchemist and Akame Ga Kill . The Seven Deadly Sins has all the fun of a good action anime with fewer gruesome deaths, less psychological scarring, and fewer little girls being turned into half-dog monsters. :(   When your summer needs an anime to just completely freak you up, watch Magical Girl Raising Project If you didn't like Madoka Magica (which, if you haven't seen, you should), you probably aren't going to like this one. But gosh is it good. It's such an emotionally manipulative show. I know that sounds like a bad thing, but this anime is fantastic at creating psychological impact, especially after the first twist.   When your summer needs the best dark anime you've never seen, watch The Future Diary Among these must-sees, this show is the most unmissable. You have to watch it. The Future Diary is one of the best anime you will ever see and Yuno Gasai is the most insane yandere you will ever see. For those of you who are unfamiliar, a yandere is someone who will do anything for someone they're in love with. ANYTHING. It's pretty dark and murder-filled, but if you don't mind that, it's amazing. Have you seen these must-see shows? What genre of anime do you normally watch?
