'Blue Bloods' Season 4, episode 6: Jamie and Danny are still 'Growing Boys' ... and troubled cops

For one Reagan police brother, the problem was an ex-gang mamber. For the other, it was an ex-girlfriend.Jamie (Will Estes) and Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) each had concerns in Friday's (Nov. 1) episode of CBS' "Blue Bloods," "Growing Boys," directed by former actor Eric Laneuville ("St. Elsewhere"). Jamie's problem involved a threat to his career, while Danny's posed a mild threat to his marriage.Shooting hoops with former gang member Tomas (Jeff Lima) in the Juvenile Robbery Intervention Program initiated by Frank (Tom Selleck), Jamie was dismayed to see the youth hassled by some of his earlier comrades. The trouble escalated when Jamie witnessed Tomas being chased by the others, prompting him to give pursuit and yell, "Police!"The chase ended tragically when one of the potential assailants ran into the path of a car that struck him, causing injuries that left the sudden victim possibly paralyzed from the waist down. And the other would-be attacker yelled at... //

'Blue Bloods': Tom Selleck is 'guru of wonderfulness' for Vanessa Ray

Tom Selleck is very much a family man on "Blue Bloods," so it makes sense that he'd welcome newcomers to the show's "family."Vanessa Ray discovered that to be very much the case when she joined the CBS Friday drama at the start of its current season. She hasn't been invited to one of the weekly on-camera dinners -- at least not yet -- as Jamie Reagan's (Will Estes) new NYPD partner Eddie Janko, but she's found Emmy winner Selleck just as paternal and protective as his alter ego, Commissioner Frank Reagan."I was very nervous and excited to meet him," the good-humored Ray tells Zap2it. "I've worked with a couple of these really cool, great actors like Ted Danson and Glenn Close [on 'Damages']. They all have their own presence when they walk into a room, and I was excited to see what Tom Selleck's 'space' was going to be like."I should also say that every... //

Frank (Tom Selleck) was alarmed to learn Father Markhum (Frank Wood, "The Newsroom"), the NYPD's chaplain, had been stopped for driving while intoxicated ... "the fourth time in two months," police chief Dino (John Ventimiglia) revealed. The clergyman had rear-ended another car, and Frank worried that intervening would appear to be favored treatment -- something the arresting officer already had furnished by letting the priest sleep off his condition. And Frank realized such handling was "the reason I never heard about the other three DWI's."Later, Frank entered a confessional to talk to the chaplain, and told him to turn himself in: "Even priests do penance, Jerry."While eating out with Erin (Bridget Moynahan), Nicky (Sami Gayle) noticed a... //
