Constantine Should Team Up With Papa Midnite More Often

We had a glimmer of a more interesting, more bastardly John Constantine this week, but this week, it was his rival Papa Midnite who got to be the morally complex character. There is something fun about watching these two characters work together to solve a supernatural problem and insult each other all the way.   Read More... //feeds.gawker.com/~r/io9/full/~3/VSr69xgs0h4/constantine-should-team-up-with-papa-midnite-more-often-1662624127

Constantine Season 1 Review “Danse Vadou”

It was inevitable that  Constantine  would find its way down to voodoo capital New Orleans at some point, so why not go all out with it, right? The show did just that in “Danse Vaudou” by bringing back recurring nemesis Papa Midnite and introducing Jim Corrigan, the man who becomes the Spectre in the comics. This led to a jam-packed episode that gave everyone something to do. Heck, even Chas got to leave the mill this time! Admittedly, this episode was perhaps too stuffed with different ghosts. Yeah, they were ultimately tied together into a single case, but the three investigations meant the storytelling was a bit fractured. That said, I think what this episode was ultimately about was giving us a chance to get to know the characters a bit more, which is definitely appreciated.   Read More... //www.tvequals.com/2014/11/22/constantine-season-1-review-danse-vadou/

Constantine Season 1 Episode 5 Review: Danse Vaudou

What a way to introduce Jim Corrigan; takin' a leak in a dimly lit alleyway. Ha! Papa Midnite returned this week as well, easily making  Constantine Season 1 Episode 5  one of the best installments so far. The show is getting better and better each week. I don't want to jinx it, but it appears the showrunners have a better idea now what type of series Hellblazer fans are longing for. Yup. I'm officially a fan. Zed's foreshadowing of Corrigan's fate makes me hopeful we'll see The Spectre this season;  if  NBC green light's a full season.   Read More... //www.tvfanatic.com/2014/11/constantine-season-1-episode-5-review-danse-vaudou/
