'Downton Abbey's' Mr. Pamuk replaces Ryan Phillippe in TV pilot

Theo James, the man who played Kemal Pamuk, Lady Mary Crawley's ... momentary lapse in all of her senses on "Downton Abbey," has been cast in Greg Berlanti's CBS drama "Golden Boy," replacing the previously-cast Ryan Phillippe as the male lead, according to TV Line.Phillippe has reportedly gotten cold feet and dropped out of the project, so James is stepping in as Walter William Clark, an ambitious young police office who becomes a hero after busting a major drug ring, and perhaps starts to rise a little too quickly within the department. The executive producers of the show are Berlanti ("Brothers & Sisters," "Dirty Sexy Money") and Nicholas Wootton ("NYPD Blue"). The project also stars Chi McBride ("Boston Public," "Pushing Daisies") and Kevin Alejandro ("True Blood"). Do you think the US viewers are ready for the devastatingly handsome charms of Mr. Pamuk? 'Downton Abbey': Maggie Smith leaving is not something to worry about

News broke on March 2 that several main cast members of "Downton Abbey," the popular British drama that has recently taken the U.S. by storm, have re-signed to the show for Seasons 4 and 5. But instead of just being happy about those who have signed on and waiting patiently for word on those who have not, everyone seems to have lost their minds. There are headlines all over the internet about Maggie Smith, who plays Dowager Countess on the program, that are essentially wailing and gnashing their teeth over the fact that she isn't returning to the show.Except no one ever said that. It is all ridiculous chatter meant to drive pageviews by eliciting panic in "Downton" fans. It's not as if all the cast members have inked new contracts except for Maggie Smith. In fact, the only ones who have re-signed are Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Michelle Dockery, Joanne Froggatt and Brendan Coyle. Sure, those... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/03/downton-abbey-maggie-smith-leaving-is-not-something-to-worry-about.html

'Downton Abbey': Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen ready to cameo

You can add couple Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen to the ever-growing list of famous fans of "Downton Abbey," the British import show on PBS that has taken the U.S. by storm.Danson tells Radio Times, "We're watching the second year in this country and my wife and I are completely hooked - I can't wait for Crawley to get out of his wheelchair and fall in love with Mary. It's so sad that you guys only make six or seven episodes a year."As for an appearance, Danson says, "Oh, yes! Although it would make my wife horribly jealous. If we could go to England, the two of us, and be in 'Downton Abbey,' we'd be the happiest people on the planet."Your move, Julian Fellowes.... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/03/downton-abbey-ted-danson-mary-steenburgen-ready-to-cameo.html

'Downton Abbey' filming a wedding for Season 3?

"Downton Abbey" is in full swing filming its third season across the pond. We already knew from an interview Elizabeth McGovern gave to the U.K.'s Sun newspaper that Season 3 will feature two weddings (which we hope are Lady Mary's and Lady Edith's). So is the show filming one of them?Oxfordshire radio station 106 Jack FM posted a Facebook photo gallery that shows a bunch of photos taken in Bampton, which doubles as the village on the show. The actual photos don't reveal a whole lot. But we were particularly struck by the photo above. That certainly looks like a man dressed in an old-fashioned tuxedo. Like what one might wear for a wedding? And it could be Dan Stevens, the actor who plays Matthew on the show.It might be nothing, but we'd like to think it's Mary and Matthew's wedding that is being filmed. And it makes sense they wouldn't be having the actual... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/03/downton-abbey-filming-a-wedding-for-season-3.html

'Downton Abbey' gets a rap, 'Eastbound & Downton' mash-up

"Downton Abbey" sure has made it - people are making up raps about it, Funny or Die has put together an "Eastbound & Downton" mash-up, there are even Downton the Gathering cards, which are fairly hilarious. What's your favorite "Downton Abbey" spin-off project? We think we have to give our vote to "Downton Tabby," which is as funny as it is completely terrifying.Looks like Mindy Kaling got her wish. "Downton" returns to the U.S. airwaves in January 2013. 'Downton Abbey': Main cast re-signs through Season 5

Some excellent news is coming our way from across the pond, "Downton Abbey" fans. TV Line is reporting that multiple main actors on the popular British import drama have signed on through Season 5. How thrilling!Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Michelle Dockery, Joanne Froggatt and Brendan Coyle have all signed on for two more seasons past the one they are currently filming, which would bring "Downton" to a five-season run (though nobody says that would be the last season).TV Line also says that those yet to sign are Dan Stevens, Siobhan Finneran and Jessica Brown Findlay, though that doesn't meant they won't. Strangely, Maggie Smith's name is neither mentioned as having signed nor as yet to sign, so we wonder what her status is? The show wouldn't be the same with the Dowager Countess! We hope there are no plans to kill her off or something. But anyway, we are over the moon at the prospect... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/03/downton-abbey-main-cast-re-signs-through-season-5.html

'Downton Abbey's' Jessica Brown Findlay preparing for pregnancy plot

"Downton Abbey" star Jessica Brown Findlay, who plays Lady Sybil, is gearing up for her pregnancy storyline in Season 3. The actress was disappointingly absent from the Season 2 finale Christmas episode, as she and new husband Branson were over in Dublin and informed their parents of the pregnancy through the post. But Findlay tells the U.K.'s Sun newspaper that she's ready to come back to Downton all preggers."I am eating lots of pies in preparation. I am taking my role very seriously," says Jessica. "I have watched 'Call The Midwife' and it has made me absolutely terrified."She also teases how great Season 3 is going to be. "It has got some killer moments in it," says Findlay. "I'm so excited to be back with everyone because we all get on so well together."We can't wait! We were most upset not to see Sybil and Branson's wedding. 'Downton Abbey': David Boreanaz ready to be Lady Mary's cowboy

Celebrity fans of "Downton Abbey" have been coming out of the woodwork ever since the show really took off in its second season run on PBS and "Bones" star David Boreanaz is no exception. Boreanaz tweets, "'Downton Abbey', Masterpiece Classic. Great series great Production value. Support PBS."and "I'd like to be that American cowboy who shakes things up at Downton Abbey. I'm open for a visit Mr Fellowes. #ITV @masterpiececbs."He is referencing the scene in the Season 2 finale Christmas special where Lord Grantham tells daughter Mary to go to America, find some cowboy from the middle West and bring him back to "shake things up."We're pretty happy that Mary got together with Matthew instead of fleeing to America, but perhaps there could still be a cowboy in the works for Mr. Boreanaz. (We kid, of course.) But we do wholeheartedly love his love for "Downton."We can hardly wait 'til it returns. 'Downton Abbey': Shirley MacLaine says shooting is 'going well' so far

"Downton Abbey," the British drama that has become a hit for PBS Masterpiece in the United States, has just started filming its third season. Veteran American actress Shirley MacLaine has been cast as Martha Levinson, the mother of the American-born Lady Cora, female head of Downton.MacLaine arrived in England on Sunday (Feb. 19) to begin shooting. Love the cast and crew."We wonder what they... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/02/downton-abbey-shirley-maclaine-says-shooting-is-going-well-so-far.html

'Downton Abbey': Matt Milne cast as the new footman

We said in our "Downton Abbey" Season 3 character wish list that we hope the household would hire a new footman. William's death has definitely left a hole in the cast. Well, now we got our wish, according to Digital Spy.Matt Milne has joined the "Downton" cast as Alfred, a new footman - who is also the nephew of O'Brien! Dun dun dunnnnn. We wonder if he'll be another villain for her to manipulate like Thomas, or if he'll perhaps be a delightful young chap that everyone likes and who will refuse to do O'Brien's bidding. We also wonder if Alfred is the son of O'Brien's favorite brother, the one who was killed that Lang reminded her of? That would be an interesting layer to add to the character.Milne has previously been seen in "War Horse" and the upcoming "Wrath of the Titans." "Downton" is back in production as of last week and will debut its... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/02/downton-abbey-matt-milne-cast-as-the-new-footman.html
