TV ratings: 'Shark Tank' propels ABC to a win; 'Grimm' and 'Dracula' both up for NBC

Fast National ratings for Friday, Dec. 6, 2013It was a quiet Friday across the board, with new ABC shows, including "Shark Tank" as the no. 1 program of the night for total viewers, propelling the alphabet network to a win. "Grimm" and "Dracula" were both up, helping NBC take second place. ABC averaged 5.95 million viewers and a 3.9 rating/7 share in households for the win, followed closely by NBC at 5.8 million and a 3.7/6. CBS was a close third at 5.7 million and a 3.5/6. FOX was fourth at 4.6 million and a 2.8/5 and the CW trailed with 900,000 viewers and a 0.6/1.  NBC and ABC tied for the adults 18-49 demo win with a 1.4 and CBS and FOX tied for second with a 1.2. TV ratings: Garth Brooks Las Vegas special big for CBS; 'Grimm' and 'Dracula' up for NBC

Fast National ratings for Friday, Nov. 29, 2013Things were pretty quiet on Friday night, though CBS still won -- largely due to the "Garth Brooks, Live in Las Vegas" special, which earned an average of over 8.7 million viewers to make it the top show of the night. NBC's new episodes of "Dateline," "Grimm" and "Dracula" helped the Peacock take second place, with "Grimm" up 2 million viewers and "Dracula" up nearly a million from their last new episodes two weeks ago.CBS averaged 6.7 million viewers and a 4.0 rating/7 share in households for the win, followed by NBC at 5.2 million viewers and a 3.4/6. ABC was right behind at 5.1 million viewers and a 3.1/5, followed by FOX in fourth with 2.3 million and a 1.5/3 and the CW at 1.06 million and a 0.7/1.In the adults 18-49 demo, CBS also won with a 1.4, followed by ABC (1.2), NBC (1.1), FOX (0.6)... //

Fast National ratings for Friday, November 23, 2013Once again, CBS dominated the Friday night competition with the lineup of "Undercover Boss," "Hawaii Five-0" and the knockout punch, "Blue Bloods." "Blue Bloods" scored 11.7 million viewers with a 7.5 rating/13 share of households to become the top-rated program of the night.Elsewhere, NBC's special commemorating the 50th anniversary of John F. Kennedy's assassination brought more people to the network than "Dracula" has been able to. The NBC News presentation brought in 6 million viewers with a 3.9 rating/6 share of households.At the end of the night, CBS was the big winner with 9.4 million viewers and a 6.0 rating/10 share of households. ABC was a distant second with 6.2 millions viewers, a 4.0 rating/7 share in households. Jonathan Rhys Meyers' 'Dracula' Salary Delayed by NBC Amid Addiction Concerns

Dracula star Jonathan Rhys Meyers is one of the industry's more troubled talents. So NBC created a financial incentive for the actor to complete filming all 10 episodes of the series this summer in Budapest. According to sources, the network withheld a substantial part of Rhys Meyers' compensation -- estimated at $100,000 an episode -- until filming was finished. Rhys Meyers, 36, whose struggles with substance abuse plagued his previous series, Showtime's The Tudors , required increased scrutiny before NBC would sign off on casting him in Dracula . So the Irish actor received per diem payments and other small dispensations, but the lump sum of his salary was contingent on him completing the season.  Read More...   //

"Grimm," however, managed to hold steady after last week's slip, with 4.9 million viewers with a 3.2 rating/5 share of households."MasterChef Junior," which crowned its Season 1 winner on Friday, saw a ratings uptick in the 8 p.m. hour.
