by FAR one of the worse paranormal shows I have ever watched in 20 years or so. The group has NO collective team work in their bodies what so ever and the show is just drama, drama. drama. Episode one established the type of people they are and how they work, califf just needs to be gone from the show all together, hes a total tool causing arguments between the team members. Episode 2 wasnt so bad, it was pretty chilled compared to episode one, then came episode 3.. Matt being the newbie of the group done some pretty stupid things by provoking which then causes califf to go into his usual over-dramatic asshole self again, shouting at all the other team members, blaming everyone other than himself.. they REALLY NEED to get rid of that prick if this show has any future.
It could be good. I think Travel got up over the skis on this one though. A flimsy concept, weak casting, and over producing makes each episode feel chaotic with very little satisfying paranormal evidence/investigation happening. Matt seems fine, inexperienced like any season 1 personality, but at has potential given proper leadership. A decent role for Sean to fill, though he also still needs to get his TV sea legs it seems. I'm not sure why they bother calling him a medium when his usage of the proclaimed skill is never showcased on the show. (be a responsible Paranormal show and get a regular medium that comes in every now and then.) He's an investigator.
Kris is NOT an empath. The show also isn't really hurting for a token female. Get a real female investigator or clear the space. She's a social media personality. Social media casting is almost NEVER pays off. Ask every low-budget indie feature of the past 10 years. It especially wont pay off with scenes as delicate as client interview, and subject matter as complicated and sensitive as the paranormal. Calif is too loud. Like literally to the point of being counter-productive to paranormal investigation. He sucks the air out of every room he is in and belts his voice out with such force it knocks all possible energies and vibrations clear out of the area. He either needs to be cut or he needs to take his energy from a 12/10 to 7/10 and his volume from a 30/10 to 6/10.
Eric seems fine, I could take him or leave him.
As for the production. I'm willing to bet this showrunner comes from conflict TV. It's over produced, edited weird, and focuses way too much on trying to get conflict and reaction shots. Take a breath, have Sean or Matt or a professional make a real game plan on how to investigate, turn out the damn lights, scale back on the people in the area, and let the investigations shine through more.
just my opinion.
