The thriller follows a team of Centers for Disease Control scientists who travel to the Arctic to investigate a possible disease outbreak. Once there, they find themselves involved in a life-and-death struggle “that holds the key to mankind’s salvation or total annihilation.”
I loved Helix, it was a thrilling and intense horror/sci-fi series in a refreshingly unique setting (research station in the arctic). The acting is all around solid and the story and creatures are as intriguing as they are terrifying. A great watch! Edit: In Season 2 the "Resident Evil" vibe becomes even stronger, and I mean that in the best way possible. Unfortunately the series got cancelled, but to be fair, the story got pretty unfocused at the end of season 2.
This show started out so promising. The first several episodes of season 1 were great. Then it got kind of slow and boring. Season 2 started off great as well, then things just got ridiculous and stupid. I'm sad to admit that I'm glad it didn't get renewed for another season. The whole story arc with Peter was embarrassing. So disappointed.
