Humans is set in a world where the new must-have gadget is a 'Synth' -- an eerily lifelike robotic servant. It stars Katherine Parkinson and Tom Goodman-Hill as a couple who purchase a Synth (played by Gemma Chan) but quickly come to regret their decision.
It has been a while since I have written a review, but that is because I needed to find a show worth writing one for. Humans does that.
At first I thought it was just another android show, albeit with a very attractive central character and a slow British tone to it, but it really has surprised me. It asks some real questions - is it cheating to sleep with an android? What is the purpose of real relationship when you can get a robot to that the part, does exactly what you want and tick all the relationship boxes with no drawbacks.
I really am looking forward to where the writers take this. I hope it keeps pushing the bar on those questions, but leave the viewer to decide for themselves
