I (Almost) Got Away With It Reviews & Ratings

Fridays, 10:00 PM ET on Investigation Discovery

60 minutes

Some people evade justice for years, sometimes decades, by using their families, fake identification and even violence to avoid being captured. Their whole goal in life is to stay out of prison and live on the lam -- even as law enforcement uses all means necessary to capture them. And these perpetrators avoided prison. Well, for a while anyways. During prison interviews you'll find out how they ALMOST got away with their crimes -- where they found shelter, how they changed their identities, and how they stayed one step ahead of the law for many years.

The premise of this show is it's title, people wanted by the law living as fugitives. Predictably, by the end of the episode, thay are caught. Most episodes interview the criminal back in jail. Real life stories are much better than made-up drama. The stories are a little drawn out; meaning the hour program could be told in a half-hour, but that's part of the charm with a cliffhanger at each commercial break.
