Andrea, Cecile, Karen, Rebekah and Sissie are five single women who travel to Alaska in search of a potential husband. First they chose one man each from a group of 50 single men as their Man on Ice, and go on dates with their choices and the four challengers each week. At the end of the week the women select from the challengers or the Man they have on Ice. With each challenger who decides to "make a plea" to the women it adds $2,000.00 to their dowry. Episodes feature the women selecting and competing over the "rugged" bachelors through a series of Alaskan-themed dates, eventually leading to marriage proposals for the hopeful contenders.
