Why 'MasterChef' Doesn't Need More Cliffhanger Endings

Do you know why I like MasterChef ? Because it's the same formula each season. A certain amount of wanna-be contestants try out. A certain amount make the cut. And then each week someone goes home until a winner is crowned. The challenges are the same. There are no live shows. There are no cliffhangers.   For me it works. I like it. I watch it every week because I want to see who cooks what, and who eventually gets cut. I certainly don't think MasterChef needs more cliffhangers like the one in "Vegas Deluxe & Oyster Shucks." Tell me who goes home in every episode. Don't leave me hanging, because it's not going to make me want to tune in any more than I already do.   ...Read More... //www.buddytv.com/articles/masterchef/why-masterchef-doesnt-need-mor-65774.aspx

Predicting the Winner of MasterChef Season 8

As MasterChef is approaching the end of it’s 8th season, fans are wondering who is going to emerge as the winner. With 15 contestants left out of the original 40, it’s tough to say precisely who is going to emerge as the single victor, but it’s becoming clearer at least, who is the most likely to make it to the top five. Some anxious fans have developed their theories about the best ways to predict who will end up in the top positions before the finish. Based on some of the better ideas for predicting the winner, here are the chefs that we think will vie for the final prize of $250,000.00 and a cookbook deal. Results from the last round Mike Newton Lipan of Texas was the winner of the Mystery box round one and he presented a dish that was near perfection. He needed to bring his game up and he managed to land in the first position. He selected the seven strongest chefs in his opinion to face off against one another. Jason, Cate, Eboni, Yachecia, Necco, Jeff, and Gabriel squared off with Necco being sent home, bringing the number to 14. Jason and Gabriel were the two remaining of the trio who did the worst. Yachecia and Cate Meade were the two best of the competition. READ MORE...

Are 'MasterChef' Challenges Becoming Too Basic?

In the first challenge for the Top 20 on season 8 of MasterChef , the contestants had a grocery bag filled with 12 ingredients any home cook would have on their shopping list, such as chicken, potatoes and ground beef. They could make any dish they wanted with the ingredients, as well as the staple pantry box, and it seems that most relied heavily on that pantry box. So, was there an actual challenge in the mystery box challenge? Could the basic challenge mean the rest of season 8 will be easy for the contestants, or will it get harder for them as the season progresses? ....Read More... //www.buddytv.com/articles/masterchef/are-masterchef-challenges-beco-65101.aspx
