In mourning for the loss of Clarice, Lorenzo lets Bernardi convince himself that the only solution for not losing everything is to kill Savonarola, whose sequel is getting bigger and bigger. The friar now openly preaches the overthrow of the established order to found a new Jerusalem. Lorenzo's plan is ready and the killers recruited, but his son Piero, a friend of Tommaso Peruzzi, communicates his father's intentions to Savonarola, putting the life of the parent and family at risk.
