UPDATE...episode two was not up to par...the son is just not believable as a person...too sweet.

I am guessing most of you don't remember the original nine years of Murphy Brown that happened before Anita Hill and Clarence Thomas and Bill Clinton, but please give the show a chance...the finale of the original series had Murphy Brown do an unprecedented thing back in the 80' a financially secure single woman she had a child "out of wedlock" THIS series starts when that now 26 year old is a much more Conservative person than his Mother, but actually has a desire to UNIFY the people of the country by checking out "flyover country"

Faux Noise put FOOTBALL opposite the series, so it is going to be hard to develop an audience, but only one of the original characters (the amazing painter, who committed suicide IIRC) is returning and for me, it is interesting to see CORKY as a well-preserved woman instead of the ingenue (could be some very interesting stories on women in the workplace too.

I hope they don't JUST lambaste trump. There are other issues in the country that could benefit from the TRUTH IN THE NEWS.

I was excited to see this show returning. It was an extremely funny show in the past. Unfortunately, it fails the key benchmark of a TV sitcom: it's not funny. Although it seems to have a lot of the same people involved, especially Dianne English, it fails repeatedly to provide anything deserving of the volume level of the laughtrack, which is distractingly loud. Miles is the only character that provides consistent laughs although his character has not shown a bit of growth since last seen. The new tech nerd needs to disappear like Chuck. The actor playing Avery is not up to the role, which is a pretty poor role to begin with. It all makes me a little sad. Not all things get better with age.

I loved this show growing up. I was happy when it came back but I am not sure it can live up to the past.

Back in the day I watched this show religiously. It was funny and topical. Too bad that is not the case today. The cast is too old and you can almost hear someone counting off until the "punch line" is delivered. Wooden and unfunny.

A decent show, I suppose, but I'm not sure what anyone needs right now is more politics.

I loved the Murphy Brown series from back in the day so I was excited when I heard that the cast was getting back together.. sadly there was very little funny about the series this time around... I realize that the writers were using today's events to build on but, it felt forced and preachy.. I did watch all the episodes in hopes of it getting better and in some ways it did.. the cast seemed like they were beginning to get back to their comfortable groove like a well oiled machine... the writing didn't help.. I can see why this series is now concluded after only 13 episodes... BTW .. the actors one and all still have it :-)

Murphy I Love you! So happy you came back to tell him where to go! I realize half of this country likely won't like it, but boy I love it. You take the news of the day and walk away with it in a way that says "I'm not going to stand for it"! You are doing it for all of us that would like to do the same. It most definitely is a political show that is comedic. Your son takes up the opposing side to even things out. Love love love it Murphy!!!
